28, 1922, in erie, son of Forrest r. and Laura d. Munger Gibson. he married evelyn Klein on June 16, 1948, in hamburg. he graduated from high school in Mccook, and earned degrees from Northwestern bible school and Northwestern college in st.

Paul, Minn. he was a u.s. army veteran serving during World War ii. Mr. Gibson was an accountant for many years, most recently at hawkeye Metal spinning in Jesup for 14 years, retiring in september 1999.

he was a member of Walnut ridge baptist church, Waterloo. Survived by: his wife; two sons, Paul (donna) of cedar Falls and david (barbara) of broken bow, four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a step- great-grandchild; three brothers, richard (carol) of Tyler, Texas, donald of audubon and Jack (carol) of branson, and a sister, Mary hagood of Lincoln, Neb. Preceded in death by: his parents; a granddaughter; a great- grandson; and two sisters, clarice ann Oughton and Jeannette bennington. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut ridge baptist church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories cemetery with full military honors.

he was born aug. 10, 1945, in Waverly, son of henry and Lucille Kirchoff Jungling. he married Pat Meyer on Oct. 23, 1971, at Washington chapel, cedar Falls. Mr.

Jungling worked for John deere for 31 years, retiring in 1972. he also owned and operated W-P Mowing. Survived by: his wife; three daughters, regina (bob) White of Mason city, Tracee (david receveur) Morgan and Tresa beenken, both of Waterloo; a son, brad clark of sumner; nine grandchildren, Todd, Mikkiah, Jennifer, Tyler, Zach, hailee, andrew, ashley and Keegan; four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Myah, Kali and Karter; a brother, Michael (sue) of arizona; and a sister, Florence Mobley of Waterloo. He enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR racing, playing cards and tinkering in his garage. Wade Jungling Virginia H. Weidner (1924-2013) WaTerLOO Virginia h. Weidner, 88, of Friendship Village, died there Monday, Oct. 21.

she was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Luxemburg, daughter of edward and anastasia ungs hogan. she married hamilton Weidner on July 6, 1968, in chicago. he died July 29, 1998. she graduated from OLVa high school in 1942.

she received her rN degree from allen school of Nursing in 1977 and then a degree in community health education from the university of Northern iowa in 1980. she was a keypunch operator for rath Packing from 1942 to 1952, and a keypunch supervisor at avon Products in chicago from 1952 to 1968. she later was a registered nurse at covenant Medical center. she was a member of st. edward catholic church.

Survived by: two stepsons, steve (Kate) Weidner and Mark (charlotte) Weidner, both of Waterloo; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen hogan of chicago and carol reyhons of davenport; two sisters-in-law, Lois Meyer of N. Muskegon, and Marlene hogan of Waterloo; and 13 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: three brothers, James, Kenneth and Monsignor robert hogan. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at st.

20. he was born June 13, 1963, the son of Joyce schnurstein Lahmann and danny drewis. he married debbie Wilkerson. Mr. drewis was the manager of burlington brands inc.

he was a member of Westside Fellowship church. Survived by: his wife; his mother of Guttenberg; his father of denver; three daughters, sarah (Gary) shipman of Fayetteville, N.c., heather drewis (Minh Tran) and hannah drewis (Neil Kernodle), both of burlington; three grandchildren, Meghan, Gracie and emma shipman; two sisters, Jennifer (chris) drewis curtis of evansdale and Kris (steve) drewis Murley of rushford, and his mother-in-law, Gladys Wilkerson of Fayetteville. Yvonne E. Donels (1947-2013) MaNchesTer yvonne d. donels, 66, of Manchester, died at home sunday, Oct. 20. she was born aug.

27, 1947, in Waterloo, daughter of earl and eunice Lund colvin. she married Jim deWald in 1967, and they later divorced. On Feb. 14, 1997, she married dwayne donels in hawaii. she graduated from West high school, Waterloo, in 1965, and then received her teaching certification and degree in computer science at the university of Northern iowa.

she taught at edison Junior high and Grant elementary in Waterloo and later worked at John deere. she also owned and operated Total Fitness health club in the 1980s and taught jazzercise and competed in body building competitions. she was a member of community congregational church, Manchester. Survived by: her husband; a son, doug (Karin) of Normal, three stepchildren, robert (Karen) donels of colorado springs, rick (dawn) donels of center Point and Toshia (Larry) isaac of surprise, 10 stepgrandchildren; a stepbrother and two stepsisters, steve, Linda and Julie. Preceded in death by: her mother; her father; and her stepmother, Vivian colvin.

Yvonne Donels Steven K. Simpson WATERLOO Steven Kenneth Simpson, 62, passed away Oct. 20 from a long, debilitating illness. He was born March 27, 1951, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth and Rozella Nolan Simpson. He was baptized April 22, 1951, at St.

Catholic Church. Steven was severely handicapped and lived a purely innocent life and was loved by his family. He was cared for at home until the age of 10, when the family was no longer able to care for him at home. He had many loving caregivers over the years and has spent the last 30 some years at Windsor Nursing Care Center in Cedar Falls. God called him home to be with his parents and the angels in heaven.

He leaves two brothers, Gary Simpson of Waterloo and Ron (Sharon) Simpson of Dike; two sisters, Mary Kay (Allen) Hockemeyer of Hudson and Sherry (Mike) Borwig of Swisher; nine nieces and nephews. family would like to thank Care Initiative Hospice and all the caregivers at Windsor for their loving care. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton. There will be no visitation.

26, 1935, in Waterloo, son of Leo and anna Phillips Levendusky. he married Maria a. Warrenburg on June 28, 1975, at sacred heart catholic church, Waterloo. Mr. Levendusky graduated from hazleton high school, then served in the iowa National Guard.

he was a dairy farmer in hazleton area until 1976, when he moved to Jesup where he raised cattle and hogs. he also drove a semi truck for 10 years, retiring in 1999. he was a member of st. catholic church. Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Lara blair of hudson; a granddaughter, Tanna blair of Johnston; a sister, rosemary Levendusky of Waterloo; and three brothers, don (Phyllis) of Mitchell, James russell (Janet) of Mountain home, and Johnny of Waterloo.

Police were called to the 300 block of Webster Street after people in the area reported hearing gunshots about 8:45 p.m. Friday. Officers found bullet holes in the hoods of a 2005 Ford Mustang and a 2014 Chevrolet Impala.

They also discovered spent shell casings. No injuries were reported, and no arrested have been made. Cars shot in parking lot WaTeRLOO Police are investigating a Friday night mugging. Christel Haas, 52, told police she was in the 400 block of Sullivan Avenue at about 9:35 p.m. when a man came up behind her and took her wallet.

The thief then ran north. No injuries were reported, and no weapons were used, according to Waterloo police. Woman reports Friday night mugging in Waterloo MaSON CITY A Waterloo man was injured Monday when he lost control of the semi he was driving on an Interstate 35 exit ramp north of Clear Lake. Jeremey Smith, 43, was southbound on I-35 at 3:50 a.m. Monday when he took the exit for County Road B20, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Smith lost control of the semi and went down the embankment. Smith was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City for treatment. He was listed in fair condition, according to a hospital spokesperson. Smith was cited for failure to maintain control. The semi was totaled, according to the State Patrol report.

Waterloo man injured in semi accident Monday JIM CROSS OSage An exciting opportunity awaits 25 young women from Osage this winter. The Osage National Dance Team and nine chaperones will travel to Tampa, to perform at pregame and half-time shows on New Day at the Outback Bowl. The Osage Just For Kix Senior Kick team earned the honor following a first place finish at the United We Dance competition in March in Waverly. Once the team qualified, siblings and other dancers in the Just For Kix program were eligible to participate in the trip to Florida. The dancers will receive a DVD of the performance and will learn the choreography on their own.

Once the dancers arrive in Florida, they will have daily practices to coordinate with the hundreds of others from across the United States. The dancers will also have sightseeing opportunities. With the trip comes hard work earning the money to participate. The dancers have been busy fundraising since spring. has been amazing to watch this group of young ladies come together and work so hard for this Director Melinda Lee said.
