And his record speaks, for Itself. Actually, Scott isn't coaching After a highly successful season as head coach of the Phillips Oilers, he was promoted to the sales department in a high salaried position. Now, though, Scott has changed his mind about retiring and is anxious to return to his first love, although It would mean quite a cut in salary. Scott first gained recognition while coaching at Central Missouri State.

In five years, his teams won four conference championships and lost only eight games in league competition. This gained for him the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina, where he won 101 and lost only 48 in six years.
