CRIME Continued from rage 1 It makes the Boston man heir apparent to the Cosa Nostra throne when Patriarca steps down, McNamara said during his testimony before the committee. Anglulo's power has increased steadily, McNamara said, and he now runs the Worcester rackets. Cosa Nostra and especially the Angiulos have infiltrated legitimate enterprises to such an extent they own a business in the Back Bay, according to police records presented to the committee. Howland said the Angiulos fortune is impossible to estimate, but they have a ton of it. They have many unknown sources of income from legal businesses, fronted for them by others." Federal Treasury agents have been trying for several years to pin a tax evasion rap on any or all of the brothers, he said, but havent been able to come up with the needed evidence.

Police information states that the Angiulos maintain their headquarters outside of Boston. Angiulo is listed by police records as an owner of three restaurants and an auto business. He and his brothers have invested large amounts in loan shark and shylocking opera tions, Howland said. They recently moved into cigarette vending machine activities, incorporated a realty firm dealing in rentals in business es tablishments, and operated a downtown night club, he informed the committee. Most recently, he said, the Angiulos purchased interests in a Worcester enterprise in partnership with a son of the late Frank Iacone.

The elder Iacone was Pa-triarcas partner when the' pair ran Worcesters rackets, the committee was told. Jerry Angiulo, who lives on Spring Medford, is involved, according to Howlands testimony, in bookmaking and money lending primarily. McNamara and Howland spent much of yesterday closeted in executive session with Senate probers to enlarge upon information concerning New England and Boston crime given by informer Joseph Valachi. Organization of Cosa Nostra in Boston came after the slaying of Frank Wallace, head of the Gustin gang, and Dodo I know of no murders as a means of taking over the organization since then, Howland stated. Police records turned over to the Senate committee show several other Cosa Nostra members in legitimate endeavors.

Cucchiara owns a cheese company in the North End, it was said. He was listed as having attended the Appalachin, N.Y., meeting, in 1959. He lives in Brookline. Sandrelli, or Tony Canadian, as he is more commonly known, was shown to have investments in Boston restaurants. Francesco P.

Intiso, of Medford, is listed by police as treasurer of a North End restaurant. He was described by police files as a big book maker in the North End with 20 agents working for him, The record stated that he ran the restaurant with Joseph Lombardi. Joseph Anselmo of Arlington was listed as president of this same restaurant in 1961. The restaurant was closed by authorities for serving liquor after hours and is now being demolished for the Government Center. Another Medford man, Ralph La Mattina, was reported as an extortionist, strong-arm man and money lender.

The record states he holds Interests in an auto business and a cafe. Larry Zannino of Jamaica Plain, now doing four to seven years in Walpole State Prison for extortion, reportedly owned a Boston night club which closed when he went to prison. Theodore Fuccillo of Everett, who was listed by police as a bookmaker, owns and operates a hotel supply company. Samuel Granito, charged by police as an organization enforcer, was believed to be a part owner of a now-defunct North End restaurant Peter J. Limone of Somerville, at age 29, stands as Angiulos right hand in the numbers racket, according to Howland.

Police records allege Limone operates a cigar store in Boston.
