Crosby today submitted his resignation to Gov Hurley. In a brief letter Justice Crosby informed the Governor that he had served continuously since 1913 on the high court of the. state, and was resigning in his 78th year. Justice Crosby will retire under the Pension bill at the last session of the state Legislature. In his letter he asked that his resignation become effective next Thursday, the last day of this month.

FILENE evening, classes NORWOOD, Sept 27 Mrs Nettie Day, 71-year-old woman who became lost in the almost impenetrable swamp here yesterday while picking cranberries, was found dead less than a half-mile from her home and but 200 yards off Neponset st this morning. Death was due to exposure in the opinion of Medical Examiner Otto Schofield. Three planes covered the five-mile swamp all morning as searchers on the ground combed the area. Pilot Henry Kent, flying without an observer, sighted the woman's body shortly after 10 o'clock.
