HOLLY compete for 4-H crowns SEVENTEEN contestants will compete for the title of 4-H king and queen this year at the contest to be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the junior fair tent at the Greene County Fair.

Convicted in gun case Vernal Adkins, 1836 Miami Fairborn, was convicted Thursday in a jury trial before Common Pleas Judge Dan M. Aultman. Adkins will be sentenced Aug. 7 on the charge of carrying a loaded firearm. He was stopped on Ironwood Dr.

by a police officer April 14 Tor drunken driving when a loaded semiautomatic pistol was found in his pocket. The case was referred to the Adult Probation Department for pre- sentence investigation. Assistant Prosecutor Dain DeVeny represented the state, and Fairborn attorney Robert H. Thureau II represented Adkins. M.

SPECIAL HONORS went to Dr. Donald F. Kyle of Cedarville at the annual physician-clergy breakfast at Greene Memorial Hospital Friday morning. In the first of what is planned as an annual presentation by the GMH Chaplaincy Committee, Dr. Kyle was awarded a plaque in recognition of his service to the community, the hospital and his church.

Faran Boyle OFM has been named associate pastor of St. Francis Catholic Church, Bellbrook. Reece's address centered on the development of ethical and human values in medical students and the preparation of students for confrontation with moral questions in medical practice -questions in the areas of abortion, smoking, drug abuse and the confidentiality of the physician- patient relationship.
