Many campers, findino no campsites available at Salt Fork Lake, moved on to nearby Piedmont, Clendening and Seneca Lakes where the camping areas had not yet been filled. We were determined to spend our weekend at Salt Fork, so we found a spot near the area and parked the camper for the night. The next morning, we drove around the lake, or I should say in and ou( la Hie lake, as many of Hie roads are now covered by water and dead-end at the lake. fn the afternoon we went swimming in the lake.

The large we went to another area on the lake and Mark and I put our fishing boal into Ihe water. We had only about an hour's fishing time before dark. our eharcoate'd steaks. After eating we hit the lake again. This time we were using a Jitter-bug and a Crazy Crawler for our lures.

I finally got a strike on my Jiller-bug, but I couldn't control the bass enough to keep him out of the stickups and I lost the large bass. At midnight we went back to the camper. THE NEXT morning we hit die lake again and I paid the penalty for using light tackle by losing two more nice bass to Ihe underwater brush. It is for this reason that I prefer heavy lackle when fishing for bass, then 1 can bring both bass and brush pile to the boal. Later on in the morning we gave the bluegills a try, hut the blites we caught were smaller than I like to keep.

I talked to several fishermen who have caught nice bluegills in this lake but Mark and I didn't have the time to find them. We came back to the camper cabins and lodge will not be completed until 1971. Of the 600 planned campites, 212 are ready. When the facilities are completed at this take this will be one of the finest recreation areas to be found anywhere. For information about campsites call 614-25498, Cambridge.
