Sandra Wells and Janice Rector Vice President and President of the West Texas Chapter of are greeted at the door by Mrs Flora Phillips, president of the alumnae Chapter, Mrs. Rector Cannon, District Director, and Mrs. Clyde Warwick. Held for ZTA Ceremonies marking the installation of the Delta 1 ta Alumnae Chapter of Tau Alpha were held Saturday the 17th of March in the home of Mrs Clyde Warwick on 11th Ave, Mrs Rector Cannon of Midland. Director of Dlstric 17 of ZT A Alumnae was here to make presentation of the charter.

Refreshments were served to the more than 30 members of the alumnae and members from the campus active chapter. Mrs. Flora Phillips, president of the Alumnae chapter, poured coffee during the social hour following the charter ceremony. Mr. and A.

E. Simmons have moved from Canyon to Clovis to join a radio and T. V. business concern there. Mr.

George Dudley Moore and Dr. Dudley Moore, went to Irving this past week to attend the wedding ceremony of their son and brother, Weston Moore to Martha Ellen Waters. The style show was held at the High School auditorium at 8pm and the staee was effectively decorated with floral and greenery arrangements. WT Campus Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met In the Fine Arts Building of West Texas College on March 17, 1962, Mrs, Madge Culberson, President, presiding. A splendid program, "Exploring New Trends in Art and Music," was introduced by Mrs. Earllne Morman, of Can- von. Miss Elsa Mu Phi Mother And Daughters Partipate In Banquet At Church A Mother and Daughter Banquet was held in the Fellowship Hall of the Methodist Church on Friday evening, March 16 at 7 The tables were decorated in green and white and the theme of the program was "Through the Looking The Men's Fellowship Class served the meal and wore white chef's coats. P.H. Woolsey, and Paula Woolsey. Songs to remember were those in which the audience could participate, and were led by Mrs. Avent Lair, accompanied by Lynn Larson. Readings were given by Mrs.

R.D. Lowry, entitled "The Inventor's Wife" and "On the An important feature of the evening's entertainment was a Style Show featuring clothes of Bye-Gone Years. It was moderated by Mrs, Craig Johnson. Also in the 1940 to 1950 division, Mrs 1 ddle Holcomb modeled a white satin wedding dress and head piece belonging to Mrs.

A.W. Lair. Mrs. Murphy White modeled a crepe dress and matching accessories that was in her trousseau. Linda Troth wore a suit belonging to Mrs.

Frank Bergert in 1948 Retreating, in time to the period from 1930 to 1940, Nancy Davis displayed a black crepe dress and blue velvet beret owned bv Mrs. Jeannette Robinson, The 1920 to 1930 clothing division was introduced by Pam Hadley wearing a black crepe dress belonging to Mrs R.A. Bellah, mother-in-law of Mrs. Alfred Bel la h. Wearing a dress of Brown chiffon lent by West Texas State College, was Barbara Meyers.

The green chiffon crepe dress and velvet cape modeled by Mrs. Alfred Bellah belonged to Mrs. C.A. Murray and had been used at many college functions during these years. Mrs J.C, Bellah was remi- nicent of the 1910 to 1920 period when she wore a white organza and poplin dress belonging to her mother Mrs.

Florence Brown Zimmerman. Bellah modeled a preteen dress belonging to her grand-mother Mrs, Alfred Bellah between 1900 and 1910. Ada Busteed wore a mother- Hubbard dress and bonnet, also a possession of Mrs. during the same time period. A teen-agers dress of vollle print, another of Mrs.

Bellah's was shown by Lynn Larson. A Bridesmaids dress of rose uool was modeled by Joyce Nitengale, and was lent to Mrs. G.A. Collins by her mother Mrs. C.E.

McPherson to be used In the 1800 to 1900 division. An 1895 voille print with lace trim, belonging to Mrs Gordon Cummings, was worn by Lynn Stevens. A dark green faille, designed by Mrs, Ida Lin- nager and made in Berne Switzerland, and now owned by Mrs Frank Begert was led by Mrs Piner Stevens. For the time period from 1880 to 1890 a dress was modeled by Mrs. L.H.

Brotherton and owned by one of her relatives in her trousseau: another gown of white voille, also In the Brotherton family, was worn by Jan. Mrs. A.W. Lair, wearing a dress made by Mrs, Ed Sah- ver of Knox City, played an auto harp, designed and made In 1876. A doll, dressed as a baby in a dress of tucked lace, was displayed by Lynn Stevens.

The dress belonged to Mrs. L.H. Brotherton, and a cap, worn by Charles Wilkinson in 1908 was also on the doll. A Bl-low china doll with celluloid hands and cotton stuffed body was shown by Jan Brotherton. It wore a 54 inch length dress, tucked and embroidered, belonging to the family of C.E, McPherson of Amarillo, mother of Mrs G.A.

Collins. It was shown by Jan Brotherton, Another doll, belonging to the daughters of the J.C. Bellahs displayed by Nancy Davis. The doll was dressed In a dress of brown twill and braid which had once been a part of a dress owned by their grandmother, Mrs Florence Brown Zimmerman. The banquet was termed a success by the capacity crowd that attended.

Fpsilon Sorority presented the following musical selections: Lullaby (The Consul) Menotti, Linda Adams, Mezzo-soprano: Holiday for Pedals, Young, F.lva Siburt, organ: A Spirit Flower, Campbell Tipton, Mila Beth Van Dever, mezzo-soprano; Concerto for Horn, Second movement, Herman, Ruth Ann Bedford, french horn: Hello (The Telephone), Menotti, Lanell Blanton, soprano: Prelude on "Brother James' Air," Wright, Joan Wallace, organ. Miss Claudia Neeley spoke most informatively on abstract- expressionlsm, abstract impressionism, and realism trends of art today. She illustrated her points by presenting prints of drawings by modern artists Attractive refreshments in the St Patrick's Day motiff were served in the lounge of the Fine Arts Building by Mesdames Grace Knighton, Mary Me Broom, Ocoee Holt and Misses Wilma Hixson, l.dna Graham, and Mary Carter. five wear. The climax of the show was a wedding scene, decorated with votary candles and white stock, to focus all eves on the bride gowned In white lace and silk organza and a chapel train.

I ntertainment was varied during 3 short intermissions and included vocal renditions by the Viscounts, accompanied by rwin, and two songs by baritone Jerrv Nichols accompanied Pat Morgan. Mrs Charles Brasher, soprano sang two favorites, accompanied by Mrs. Leon Trekell. Door prizes were awarded as ifts bv business firms in town, and every guest was allowed to select a fresh carnation from lovely colored bouquets as they came in the door and each was given a small bottle of i ologne from the MacDonald Shop as they entered the auditorium Models were Mesdames J.C, Bellah, Wm. The dining table was laid with an ecru cloth of linen and lace Lodge Meets, Hear Reports The Canyon City Rebekah Lodge No 356, met Wednesday afternoon for their retojlar meetine with Burtha Crow, Noble Grand, presiding. Game Night Set Monday A game night sponsored by the Sue Hite Book Club will be held this rlday night, March 23rd at the Hementary School All Purpose Room starting at 7:30. Tl kets cost fifty cents and will be sold at the door or from any member of the club.
