Burial will be in North Mount Zion Cemetery. Ms. Perkins died at 7:30 a.m. Monday at her home. She was a retired seamstress for Merit Clothing Company and a member of Northside Church of Christ.

Surviving are one daughter. Nancy Hargrove of Mayfield: one son, Jerry Cochrum of Piano, Texas; two sisters, Martha Beach and Betty Kesterson, both of May-field; one brother, J.E. Curd of Dearborn, six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Carl Curd; two sisters; and three brothers. Her parents were Lebert and Marv Griffith Curd.

Tuesday at his home. FANCY FARM, Ky. Funeral Mass for Joseph Hobbs, 61, of Gainesville, formerly of Fancy Farm, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jerome Catholic Church, where he was a member.

The Rev. Tony Jones will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Hobbs died Jan. 7 at his home: He was a retired communications specialist and was a veteran of the U.S.

Army. Surviving are his mother, Violet Carrico Hobbs of Fancy Farm; three daughters, Denise Brand of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Ann Marje Bamonti of Greenville, S.C., and Monica Vinluan of Manassas, five sisters, Delores Toon and Rose Peek, both of Fancy Farm, Jeanette Farrell of The Villages, Theresa Milner of Keyil, and Gay la Hobbs of Paducah; four brothers, Mike Hobbs of Medford, Fred Hobbs of Fredericksburg, Joe Hobbs of Methuen, and Rick Hobbs of Clarks-ville, and four grandchildren. Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by his father, James Curtis Hobbs, and one brother. Friends may call after 5 p.m.

Garland Summers, 57, of Brookport, 111., died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He was a member of the Kevil Eagles Club. Surviving are" his wife, Terry Lawellin of Canon City, three sons, Wayne Summers and James Summers, both of Metropolis, 111., and Larry Lawellin of Batesville, two daughters, Carol Moore of Metropolis and Tona Moser of Batesville; his mother, Eula Summers of Brook-port; one sister, Helen Counts of Brookport; two brothers, Glen Lemons of Golconda, 111., and Mil-ford Lemons of Paducah; and 10 grandchildren. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. Surviving are two sons, Ricky W. Burgess and Ronald P. Burgess, both of Paducah; two daughters, Martha Lipscomb and Phoebe R.

Burgess, both of Paducah; one sister, Bessie Magnolia Burgess of Corinth, one brother, Carlton Burgess of Detroit; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. Burgess; and one son, Emmery E. Burgess. His parents were Noah Dewitt Burgess and Ora Lee Earnest Burgess.

Monday at Heritage Manor Healthcare. She retired from Merit Clothing Company after 50 years of service. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and attended Northside Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Scott of Mayfield and Patricia Jones of Hickory; one sister, Lillie Mae Killebrew of May-field; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leo Stinson; two grandchildren; one brother; one half brother; one sister; her father, Elbert Martin Riley; her mother, Nancy Ivy Owens; and two stepmothers, Gertrude James Riley and Clare Annie Riley.

Mrs. Waterfield died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center. She was a seamstress for Merit Clothing Co. and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

i Surviving are two sons, Will McCampbell Jr. and David Louis McCampbell, both of Mayfield; one sister, Imogene Starks of Mayfield; two brothers, Norman Brown and, Eugene Brown, both of seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three aunts; one one uncle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. Her parents were John H. and Lorene Duffy Brown.

Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lindsay died at 1:46 p.m. Sunday at Rivers Bend Retirement Center. A native of Gridley, 111., she was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Benton.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Perdue of Mobile, and Judy Lindsay of Kuttawa; two sons, Lyn Lindsay of Grand Rivers and Jerry Lindsay of Rock-ford, 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Lindsay; seven brothers; and six sisters. Her parents were Tillman and Myrtle M. Freed McKinley.

Tuesday at Trigg County Hospital. Mrs. Aldridge retired from Illinois Glass Company in Alton and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lyon County in the Between the Rivers area. Surviving are two daughters, Ponnie Walker of- Mayfield and Alice Franklin of Cadiz; one son, Samuel Aldridge of Grand Rivers; one brother, Denar Fox of Grand Rivers; two sisters, Agnes Calhoun of Alton and Dickie Maupin of Grafton, nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Layo Aldridge; one son, Raybon Aldridge; one grandson; one sister; and three brothers.

Her parents were John Fox and Grace Brake Fox. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Charlie Canup officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers.

Worthy, 75, of Fancy Farm will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trace Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronnie Stinson officiating. Mr. Worthy died at 2:05 a.m.

Monday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Trace Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Worthy is survived by his wife, Janell Felts Worthy; two daughters, Cathy Mayo of Mississippi and Sharon Bethany of Arkansas; two sons, Robert Worthy of West Paducah and David Worthy of Water Valley; one stepdaughter, Paula Jones of Symso-nia; one stepson, Rusty Jones of Seattle; one sister, Lois Henson of Mississippi; seven grandchildren; and one stepgranddaughter.

Daniel Higgins BENTON, Ky. Services for Daniel Needmore Higgins, 82, of Benton will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Collier Funeral Home here with the Rev. Elijah Balentine officiating, Burial will be in Matheny Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes.1 Mr. Higgins died at 8:10 p.m.

Monday at Britthaven of Benton. He was a grocer and had owned a restaurant and "service station. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Erlene Colson Higgins; three sons, Danny Higgins of Kerry Higgins of Hardin and Wayne Higgins of Palma; one sister, Lovetta Marsh of Benton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew. His parents were Andrew and Viola Calhoun Higgins.

Mrs. Moore died at 7:05 p.m. Monday at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City. A retired secretary and office manager for Auto-Lec Store, she was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, William B.

"Brad" Moore of Lone Oak; one daughter, Jennifer Moore Hyer of Dunkirk, one brother, Howard House of Torrance, six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a graduate of Murray State University. He was a retired special education teacher at Lone Oak Middle School in McCracken County.

He was also a professional photographer for more than 15 years. He was active in the 4-H organization for several years. He 'also served as a Cub and Scoutmaster and was on the board of directors for the West Kentucky Easter Seals for more than 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Pharis Ross; one son, Dana Harold Ross of Lexington; two Marilyn Ross and Malinda Ross Spencer, both of Paducah; four grandchildren, Jamie Ross and Jennifer Ross, both of Lexington, and Susan Spencer and David Spencer, both of Paducah; one great-grandchild, Chelsea Ross of Lexington; two brothers, Alton Ross of La Grange and Joe Ross of Bardwell; one sister-in-law, Jessie Ross of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews. Associated Press BAGHDAD, Iraq Hostile fire brought down a U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter Tuesday, the third aircraft lost this month west of Baghdad. Coalition troops killed three Iraqis in restive cities outside the capital, relatives and police said. U.S. troops carried out a raid today in the central Iraqi city of Samarra, arresting four family members of the most-wanted Iraq insurgent still at large.

Two are nephews of former Iraqi Vice President Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri. considered the top organizer of attacks against U.S. forces in Iraq. The military said the arrest of the nephews believed to be helping al-Douri remain in hiding could help bring coalition forces closer to his capture. And in Fallujah, also west of Baghdad, hundreds of Iraqis protested, shouting "Bush, you cow-.

ard!" after American troops detained a woman while searching for a Saddam Hussein loyalist. The 17-year-old newlywed was freed after several hours of questioning. The AH-64 helicopter gunship from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment crashed near the of Habbaniyah, but the two crew members escaped injury, military spokesman Col. William Darley said. "It was apparently downed by enemy fire," he said.

The helicopter was covering a ground convoy moving in the area, the U.S. Central Command said. Friends may call between 6 and 9 this evening at the church. Milner Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe is in charge of arrangements. UK attorney Van Booven dies Associated Press LEXINGTON, Ky. Paul C. Van Booven, the University of Kentucky's general counsel and one of the school's most respected administrators, died Saturday.

He was 53. The former Hopkinsville resident died at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center after a four-year battle with cancer. Van Booven was general counsel, or chief lawyer, since 2002 and had worked in the legal counsel's office since 1989. He served successively as assistant dean and associate dean of the law school from 1976 to 1989. Van Booven was a close adviser to UK President Lee Todd, as well as his predecessor, Charles T.

Wethington Jr. Van Booven was a strong advocate of the state's open-records law. "He didn't play games," said Jack Blanton, a retired UK senior vice president of administration.
