WMF Famous Lovelorn Dailv Radio Show 19 TO Affi MEW VARIETY'S RARRISBURG TELEGRAPH, Harrbburg, Pa, Saturday, November 2. 1946 MOW Columnist Opens Dorothy Dix, famous newspaper columnist and adviser lo America's lovelorn ior neariy uu uC a new radio presentation starting Monaay, iNovemoer at 3 r. M. over vnr, This innovation in daytime pro gramming promises to be an outstanding feature in radio listen ing. Miss Dfx has been answering America's mail on matters of love and other personal problems ior nearly half a century, now.

throueh the medium of the air waves, she will be able to give each answer that personal loucn that has been lacking in the past. The internationally famous column on advice to the lovelorn was originated by Dorothy Dix and throughout the years has become one of the most widely read syndicated columns of its type, appearing in nearly every American newspaper from coast to coast as well as many publications abroad. The format of her new program will follow much the same idea as her newspaper column, including several new features. Miss Dix will answer all the mail pos sible on each program. One outstanding idea to be added to the radi presentation of the Dorothy Dix column will be the dramatization of the most outstanding and interesting letter that she receives.

This will be a daily feature. So, in addition to having its love problems solved the radio audience will hear each day an interesting, factual dramatization of a love story contained in a letter to Miss Dix. Son of Famous Pianist Stars on "Grand Central" New York Stefan Schnabel, actor of the European and Amer ican stages, and son of Pianist Artur Schnabel, will take the role of a musician in the Grand Central Station drama Saturday, November 9, at 1 p. m.

On Broadway, actor Schnabel was last featured in Orson Welles' "Around the World in Thirty Days," and appeared in thfc re vival of "The Cherry Orchard." Carol Goodner and Whitfield Connor are the supporting players in the cast of this Pillsbury Mills' Grand Central Station original story by Barbara Barry of Holly wood, Calif. Miss Goodner's most recent Broadway credits are "Three to Make Ready" and "Deep Are the Roots." Mr. Connor of Rathdowney, Ireland, and Detroit, is now in "The Duchess of Malfi" and was with Maurice Evans in "Hamlet." Durante, Moore And the 'Voice' ExchangeVisits "The Nose" and "The Haircut" will be hosts to "The Voice" Friday, November 8, when Frank Sinatra drops in on Jimmy Durante and Garry Moore during their CBS broadcast at 9.30 p.

m. EST (6.30 p. m. PST). Aiding Jimmy and Garry with their welcoming festivities for Frankie will be Suzanne Ellers, singing star of the Durante Moore series; Announcer Howard i'etrie and Roy Bargy orchestra.

In addition to singing a solo or two, Sinatra will join Durante, Moore and the rest of the cast in comedy sequences. Sinatra's appearance on the Durante Moore show will be the second broadcast Durante and Sinatra will stage during the week Durante will be the special guest on Sinatra weekly air series Wednesday, November 6, at 9 p. Twenty years ago, after he had become a successful lawyer. Burroughs, a former newsboy himself, decided to aid the youngsters in their problems. Since then more than 40,000 boys have been helped by the institu tion he founded. With him on "We. the People will be one of the newsboys he is aiding at present, and two successful alumni Theodore White, life magazine reporter and author of the recent book, "Thunder Out of China," and James Sullivan psychiatrist at the Bedford Veterans' Hospital.

While election returns come pouring in, Parks Johnson and Warren Hull will give nationwide audience to voters on both major party sides of the political conflict, during the "Vox Pop" broadcast to be aired from an election night jamboree in the Doylestown, High School au ditorium, Tuesday, November 5, at 9 p. over WHP. Doylestown, a manufacturing and farming town in Bucks county, is 25 miles north of Philadel phia. As in most towns and cities throughout the country in this critical election year, sentiment is strongly divided between Republican and Democratic candidates for county, state 'and Congressional office.

With Democrats seated on one side of the auditorium and Re publicans on the other, the Vox Poppers will conduct their inter views at a strategically "safe" distance on the stage. Berle is a familiar favorite of Kate Smith listeners, having been ner guest many times during past seasons. He is one of the biggest names in tile American night club world, currently a leading Broad way attraction at Nicky Blair's "Carnival" in New York where he has held forth for eight months. Berle presided over CBS' "Kiss and Make Up" over the past summer. Kate Smith will present a med ley of old and new hit tunes in the "America Sings With Kate Smith" musical feature of the program.
