(SOESBR PWWB PAGE FIVE Nominations for TV Academy Awards Are Announced By BOB THOMAS HOLLYWOOD (AP) Nominations for TV Academy Awards were announced today, and the favorites shaped up at newcomers George Gbbel and Disneyland plus veteran- Jackie Gleason and 1 Love Lucy. The TV Academy, which is similar to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences but has no connection, listed 21 categories down to and Including best singers and best daytime program. Unlike the Oscar race, the top contention for Emmies does not center on two or three races. A half-dozen or more of the classi- flcatlqns are coveted highly in the television industry. Here are nominations for some of them: Best actor starring In a regular series: Richard Boone, Robert Cummings.

Jack Gleason, Danny Thomas, Jack Webb. Best actress starring In a regular series: Eve Arden, Oracle Allen, Lucille Ball, Ann Sothern, Loretta Young. Best situation comedy series: Burns and Allen, I Love Lucy, Make Room for Daddy, Mister Peepers, Our Miss Brooks, Private ecretary. Best variety series: Disneyland George Gobei Show, Jackie Glea on Show, Toast of the Town, Youi Hit Parade, Jack Benny Show. Outstanding new personality: Richard Boone, Walt Disney, Fess 'arker, Tennessee Ernie Ford, 'reston Foster, George Gobel, Ml- hael O'Shea.

Best dramatic series: Four Star Medic, Television Play- louse, Studio One, U. 3. Steel Hour. Best individual program: Diamond Jubilee of Light; Operation Jndersea, Disneyland: Medic; A Christmas Carol; Shower of Stars; 2 Angry Men; Studio One. The winners will be announced March 1, when the academy has ts sevenUi annual awards dlnnei at the Moulin Rouge in Hollywood.
