EYE CARE ByDrA.CBittnerDrG.J.Bittner,Optometrists Glenshaw Vision Associates SUNGLASS QUALITY Sunglasses that can be purchased at the drugstore may look very fashionable but they do not necessarily help your eyes.

Store-bought sunglasses come in a variety of attractive tints, frames, colors and sizes. However, if the lenses are plastic, they do not filter out infrared radiation. This can result in some discomfort and, even damage to your eyes. Granted, some store-bought sunglasses have glass lenses, even ground and polished lenses. Yet, nothing in the labeling will so indicate.

The law requires no written clue to quality or absorption characteristics. The only way to be absolutely sure of sunglass quality is to see an eye professional. If you want sunglasses that really help your eyes, you might want to think about seeing a professional optometrist. At GLENSHAW VISION ASSOCIATES we know that anything that has to do with your eyes is a serious matter. After all your eyes are a priceless gift.

We'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about eye care, glasses or contact lenses. Call us at 4861043 for an appointment. You'll find us at 1412 Mt. Royal Won. 1-8, Wed.
