Aug. 21. The White House has announced President Roosevelt will attend the funeral of Speaker Henry T. Rainey at Carrollton, Illinois, late Wednesday. The body of the House veteran of thirty years will be cremated in St.

Louis and the ashes sent home to Carrollton, 111., for burial Wednes- day. President Roosevelt decided late yesterday to go to the quiet little agricultural city where Rainey was born seventy-four years ago and where he made his home during his entire lifetime. Word was telephoned here that for a short time Wednesday morning, the ashes will lie in state in the Greene county court house. The funeral service is to be in the Episcopal church and burial will be in Carrollton cemetery. President Roosevelt will lead in homage a distinguished group of government officials and members of Congress.
