Those present were Mesdames Paul, Monroe, Walter, Cumber, Gatlin, Mor rOW. Embroiery seemed to be the order of the day. The Club will meet at Mrs Devores next Thursday afternoon. OBITUARY. Died: March 17th, 1899, at his home in Lane, William Burkdoll aged 64 years 8 months and 12 days.

Deceased was born in Switzerland county Indiana July 5, 1834. In he was married to Miss Catherine Fosher of Howard couuty Ind. They had six children; five sons and one daughter. In 1858. Mr Burkdoll removed with his family to Polk Mo.

and from thence to in 1860. He located IN a farm hear which ho lived for nearly t.irty years. When about 21 years of age he unitd with the M. E. Church of which he vas ever lived a consistent member.

When he realized that his earthly pilgrimage was almost ended. he as-ured his family that "all was well," mid that he was "ready to go," and and when told that he was entering of the Shadow" he exclaimed this is death, praise the Lord." He was rational to the close and after his tongue was palsied by death ex tended his hand to each of his family in a loving farewell. His wife and and his children except two (Wilburn of and Henry of were presedt when he died. THere was also present a brother of the deceased, Mt Stephen Burkdoll of Osage Co: Mr Burkdoll was a man of genid! dispositions and kindly ways. In speak of his advancing years he would remark that he was "trying to keep young then add, "One never gets too old until He gets cross." He was a firth upholder of the cause of right; and in his death, his family have lost a true friend and counsellor, the community in which he lived an honored citizen and the cause of temperance an earnest advocate.

For several year's there has been a German by the name of It Thiel, has made his living by laying stone fence in the vicinity of Greeley. The past winter he has been working for Grimmer And hiving by himself in one of Mr- Grimmers tenant flouses. Thursday morning, persons passing the house caught thescent of a strange oder and at once opened lhe house and found Mr Reine dead in his bed. It supposed lte died of heart de sease Sunday.He was burried in the Greeley cemetery. Our new subscribers this week are Newhouse, Arch Cade, Chas Mopris.
