WOIfDAT, BLTTHEVILLE (ARK.) COURIER NEWS PAGE FIVE Mysterious Girl In Brown Seen In Murder House Mother of Slain Rubenstein Saw Her Before Slaying NEW YORK (AP) A mysterious girl, dressed in brown, reportedly was seen wandering about Serge Rubeinstein's lavish home some hours before he was murdered. Both -Rubinstein's mother and aunt told of seeing the girl, police disclosed yesterday, but so far they have turned up no hint'as to who she might be. Today's investigation of the four- day-old murder will include questioning of Lee Brooks, a dealer in Canadian securities, police said. Brooks had clashed with the slain draft dodger in a complex oil deal, police reported. In 1947 Brooks was questioned about the unsolved murder of businessman Albert E.

Langford. While police have been following up all possible angles of Rubenstein's social and business life, the body has been on view for two days at a Manhattan funeral home. He Is to be buried today after Jewish funeral services. Heard Voices It was at the funeral home that Rubinstein's mother disclosed she had heard angry voices aruging in her son's rooms early Thursday, shortly before he was killed. Mrs.

Stella Rubinstein, 78, lived the fourth floor of her son's 5th Avenue mansion, one floor above the bedroom In which he was strangled to death. Police later confirmed the report and said Mrs. Rubinstein had told them about the when they questioned her on the day of the murder. The "girl in brown" was seen by Mrs. Rubinstein some time prior to the noisy quarreling, police said- Mrs.

Rubinstein had gone into the hallway to check on a noise, and had seen the girl on the stairway. She didn't look like the kind of girl who belonged there, police said the mother remarked. Visitors to the bier of the millionaire financier and playboy included Miss Anna Borsuk, 45, who described herself as "a very dear friend." She said Rubinstein had told her a week ago, "I have a premonition that I will be killed." THE HOME is an artist's conception of a circular apartment house just patented by William Zeckendorf, New York real estate developer. The building would have a central well for elevators and utilities. A needing more space can expand their quarter? easily.

The landlord connects their apartment with one or more units half a floor up or half a floor down. This gives the advantage of a duplex without the long climb. The building, called the Helix, is in pie-wedge segments, the floors in each staggered from those in the next. Adjoining units can be thrown together by taking out panels and installing stairways. All living rooms and balconies are on the outer rim of the pie wedfie.

Indian Volunteers Battle 'River Of Sorrow' to Prevent Flood NEW DELHI, India MV-India is counting on an army of volunteers to help tame the turbulent Kosi, the "river of sorrow" whose annual floods bring tragedy to 18 million persons. Some 5,000 volunteers men and women, chanting Hindu hymns while they work with shovels and. baskets launched this month the first phase of the 400-million-rupee Bankers View Site of Longest Toll Road-in Texas, of Course DALLAS chartered airliner today flew a load of Yankee bankers along the route of what's scheduled to become the newest of Texas' nation's longest toll road. The visitors, 15 New York and Chicago men, represent some of the biggest, money in the country; the kind that's needed in million-dollar chunks to build the 450-mile superhighway planned to run from the Texas-Oklahoma border to the Gulf Coast city of Corpus Christi. Today the road was still on the drawing boards and the visitors saw only picturesque Texas scenery.

But in two years, engineers say, they'll be ready to open the first section of the road, giving Dallas-to-Houston motorists 223 miles of lour and six-lane divided pavement with no cross traffic, no stop lights and a 70 m.p.n. speed limit all the way. That first leg will cost around 140 million dollars, well over a half million per mile. Other segments, running north from Dallas to the Oklahoma border and southwest along the Gulf of Mexico from Houston to Corpus Christi, will be comparable in cost. Completion of those sections will make the turnpike the longest In the nat'ion, engineers say.

Longest at present is the New York State Thru way. running 427 miles from New York to Buffalo via Albany. Mannikins Robbed ATLANTIC CITY. N.J. disrobed mannikins of $20,905 in mink furs in a shop window last night as subfreezing weather kept Sunday strollers away from the oceanfront.

The robbery took place at Koff Furs, Inc. (34 million dollar) flood control project. Their goal Is to throw up earthworks for two parallel embankments, about, seven miles apart and each 70 miles long. Their hope is that the Kosi will stay within those embankments when monsoon rains and melting Himalayan snows send flood waters swirling into the river. Indian peasants In the Kosi area are being exhorted to follow the example of the Chinese.

Two Indian engineers recently returned from Red China to tell how the Chinese dug an irrigation canal in BO days. However, no one expects the Indian volunteers to work as fast as the Chinese peasants. For one thing, the Chinese had hundreds of thousands of workers. For another, the Chinese had to work to Early Warm'ng Radar Keeps Electronic Eye Pointed Towards Reds By, ELTON FAY AN EARLY WAENING RADAR STATION, Alaska (AP) From this weird, mountaintop site, where an electronic eye scans the skies In ceaseless vigil, may come the (Irst alarm to the United States that enemy bombers are on the way. We feared that our new friends in AA would either drab as dishwater or, worse exuberant evangelists.

We discovered that they were, instead, human beings like ourselves with the special virtue of understanding our problem instead of merely condemning us for it, as so many non- alcoholics had done in the past. We begin to wonder what we had to do to stay sober, what membership in AA would cost and who "ran" the society locally and worldwide. We soon discovered that there are no "musts" in AA, that no one is required to follow any formal ritual or pattern of living. We learned also that AA has no dues or fees of any kind; expenses incurred for meeting rooms, re- freshrnents and other incidentals are defrayed by passing the hat, but even contributions of this kind are not a requirement of membership. It soon became apparent to us that AA has no formal organization and that it hit no governing officers.

The arrangement of meetings and the other jobs that are essential in keeping the fellowship together are handled by informal committees whose membership is rotated periodically. These committees act as servants of the group for limited periods, not as officers. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS Box 873 Blytherille, Ark. Closed Meetings Tuesday Nights at 8 p. m.
