BOIVIN 1946 2006 Charles passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in Montreal on December 13, 2006 after showing extraordinary courage in his battle with cancer, defying all the expectations for his survival.

Charles is survived by his wife and best friend, Carole, his sons, Mathieu (Annick Perrault) and Alexis, and his daughter Marie-Charles Audet). He was predeceased by his father, P. Horace Boivin of Granby, and his brothers, Ernest and Robert (Monique Gagnon). He is survived by his mother Frances Boivin, his brothers, Claude, Richard and Georges, and his sisters, Diane (Richard French), Elise, Marie, Lynne (Bertrand Tessier) and Julie, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emmanuel and Suzanne Chauvin, his sistersin-law, Lison (Robert and Sylvie (Jean his nephews and nieces and many friends. In 1986, Charles joined the law firm of Ogilvy Renault where, for many years, he led the banking and financial services practice team.

His partners recall that Charles was considered one of the best banking law practitioners in the country. His colleagues and friends will remember him for his brilliant mind, his generosity and warmth, his passion for the outdoors and his love of music. MOUNT ROYAL COMMEMORATIVE SERVICES OBITUARY EDMOND PAUL BLANCHETTE March 6, 1928 December 28, 2006 Edmond (Eddie) passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years Rita (Hall); son Gregory, daughter Rhonda, and granddaughter Chelsea Marie Pottage; brother Aurale and sister Jeanette (Ducharme); mother-in-law Myrtle Hall; sisters-in-law Bernice Miller and Georgina Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by his parents Athanase and Wilda; brothers Octave, Emile and Lucien; and brothers-in-law Bruce Miller and Don Johnson. Eddie was born in Bateman, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he attended St. Paul's High School. He began his 36-year career with Air Canada in 1948.

Eddie met Rita just after WWII and they married in September, 1949. Their children became part of the family in 1955 (Gregory) and 1959 (Rhonda). In 1960 the family was transferred to Montreal, Quebec, where they lived for 25 years. During this time Eddie rose steadily in the ranks at Air Canada, and also served as host in the company's pavilion during Expo 67. In 1985, Eddie took a two-year consulting position at MTU, an aeronautics company in Hanover, Germany.

Eddie and Rita then retired to Arnes, Manitoba, and spent the next 17 years between the lake in summertime and Naples, Florida, in the winter. In 2005 they moved to Winnipeg. Eddie had a zest for living right to his last day. Though a man of few hobbies, he was the life of many parties, and a wizard at the many renovation, gardening and construction tasks Rita set for him around the home. In later life he overcame his medical difficulties with a spirit that astounded his doctors and inspired those around him.

A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 5th, 2007, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Winnipeg. OBITUARY GEORGE WALKER NICOLSON George Walker Nicolson of White Rock, B.C. passed away at Peace Arch Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 25, 2006 at the age of 76.

He is predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Anne. Mr. Nicolson was born on February 28, 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a resident of North Vancouver, B.C. prior to moving to Montreal, where he served as CEO of Rose La Flamme until his retirement in 1990.

George, an avid curler, also enjoyed golf and traveling. In recent years, he donated much of his time to community service, which included driving the elderly to and from medical appointments. He is survived by his son, David Nicolson and wife, Bonnie, of Palm Desert, CA; his daughter, Dawne Sterling and husband Bill, of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren Jennifer and Lisa Nicolson and Jessica and Danny Sterling; and one great-grandchild, Taylor Nicolson. He is further survived by special companion Shirley Kinnear of White Rock, B.C., and long-time friends, Helen and Glen Tibbits of Tsawwassen, B.C. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10 a.m.

The family wishes to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and other staff who attended to him during his final weeks in the intensive care unit. Their kindness and compassion was greatly appreciated.
