It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Percy Watmore on Saturday July 29, 2000 at Calgary's Foothills Hospital at age sixty-seven years. He will be greatly missed as a father and best friend by Jason and Nancy, and His grandchildren Elsie and Brian who greatly adore him will never forget their wonderful memories with their grandpa. He will also be: missed by his brothers and sisters. Percy was a quiet and gentle man who has taught us in patience, caring and love. thoroughly enjoyed being a grandpa showed it in his many ways.

Brother of the late Sidney (Dora Gauthier) and Corrie. Uncle to the late Dorothea, Lois and Johnny, of Montreal. He was deeply interested in and committed to the lives of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was supportive in times of need with his very practical wisdom and his wicked sense of humour. In his youth, Alfred was a national champion swimmer.

From that time on, sports and particularly swimming, were major passions in his life. In his retirement, he worked long and hard to document the history of competitive swimming in North America at the Montreal Swimming Club, drawing particular attention to the many early champions in the sport. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Trillium Ridge Nursing Home in Kingston for their kindness to Alfred over the last year. A memorial service will be held on August 5, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mount Royal Chapel at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex (north entrance 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont; south entrance via Remembrance Road (514) 279-6540).
