Jourol Photo by Dominion Wldel THEATRE NEWS Five Plays Slated For RA Festival Five one-acT plays, including one French-language production, will be presented-in the -aixjth annual Civil Service RA' Drama Festival which take place Monday and Tuesday in the-RA Centre, Riverside Drive. The adjudicator will be Michael Meiklejohn, well-known Ottawa actor and i The George T. Jackson Trophy will be awarded for the best production and the David A. Golden Trophy will go to the best director.

Mr. HargreaveSr who receiv ed his musical education in England, came to Ottawa last Fall to head the Glebe music department. While irr England he taught trumpet zt the Royal Marines School of Music and was prin cipal trumpeter with the Band of the Scots Guards. Mr." Van Dine is a known Ottawa singer and choral director. The 45-piece Gold Band will play music by Gluck.

Shalom Trio To Conclude Showcase Series The Shalom Trio, a talented group of Israeli performers, will appear at the Jewish Commu nity Centre Sunday evening, April 12.

This will be the final event in the Showcase series sponsored by the Centre's Adult Program Committee. The Shalom Trio Is an inter nationally known, -folk music group. The singers accompany themselves on a variety of in struments, including the tarn bor and' shepherd's flute. The heav iest entry is in the piano divi sion, with 95 candidates accounting for 532 registrations. Six young violinists and six choirs are entered. Piano classes will be adjudi cated by three.
