' will hold a memorial service to a long- dead coal miner today at the Holly Grove Community Park near Pratt. The service will memorialize Sesco Es tep, who was killed in 1913 during a strike by miners in the Paint Creek and Cabin Creek areas. Estep was killed by rifle fire from a train as it passed striking miners' tents a Holly Grove near the mouth of Pain Creek. The train was said to have bee outfitted by coal operators in an attemp to secure rail access to their mines. The bitter strike began in 1912 and lasted until 1914. The memorial service will last from 11 5 p.m. and will include music, tours of th strike area, short speeches, a memorial at the Estep grave site and recognition of those connected with the long-ago strike. The public is invited to attend. Mobile Home Park Ordered to Stop Discrimination The West Virginia Human Rights Commission has ordered a Rand mobile home park operator to halt his practice of discriminating against blacks. The commission issued the order based on information collected in a Feb. 21 hearing during which allegations were presented against Eugene Conley, owner and operator of four mobile home parks in the Rand area. Allegations against Conley included testimony that Conley refused to rent space for mobile homes owned by blacks. Allegedly, one couple, Mr. and Mrs. Meridith Brown, were forced to relocate their mobile home after Conley learned they were bqth black. The Browns were awarded damages from Conley totaling $450.
