A nice sprinkling of 'comedy mixed in with the usual police drama, plus a good guest cast, help to enliven tonight's entry. It's an episodic affair involving a prostitute out for revenge, a mob lawyer marked for death, and a police force decimated by a strike. However, there's a large vein of humor running through it all, and the guest list is headed by Gig Young and Bernadette Peters, along with Marge Redmond, William Daniels and Delia Reese. 9 p.m. NBC. O® Hi OS) MASTERPIECE THEATER. "Notorious Woman." (Repeat). Rosemary Harris' masterful por- taryal of the famous French author George Sand who scandalized society with her amoral life style; feminist opinions a hundred years _before her time; and socialist and political leanings; closes tonight with a sparkling, moving episodic hour. The scenes touching on Chopin's death and her daughter Sloange's betrayal are particularly memorable, and so are her discussions with Flaubert, her confrontation with angry neighbors, and her meeting with a rejected Sloange. Altogether a drama series of unforgettable stature. 9 p.m. PBS.
