They 've Come A Long Way Bv Di'lmer Robinson Girls' tennis has developed into a fast, aggressively-played game--no longer the genteel pitty-pat at recreation of years gone by. And tennis clothes have changed to keep pace with the progress of the game. Dramatically depicting this change are committee chairmen of the USTA National Girls' 16 Championships, and Anne White, who is the area's only qualifier in the national competition. This is the seventh consecutive year the tournament has been held in Charleston. It will begin Sunday, July 25. and finals will be held on July 31. Matches will be played at the Charleston Tennis Club and at the Carbide courts. The antique tennis outfits are from Mrs. F.VV. Pritchard's attic and Kanawha Players.
