Secretary of Labor James Hodgson predicted Saturday the November election will see President Nixon receive "the biggest labor vote" for a Republican presidential nominee in 40 years. Following a nonpolitical address at University of Cincinnati commencement ceremonies, Hodgson said at a-news conference that union leaders have been turned off by "brush offs" during the Democratic presidential campaign of U. S. Sen. George McGovern. Hodgson said that McGovern has promised labor nothing butj "a double or triple tax load." j Hodgson contended that thei American laborer is "better off" today than he has been for years. He said unemployment has dropped steadily in the past year and will continue going down. Hodgson said the strike level! in labor on a national basis lands at its lowest point since 1963. "A climate of industrial peace n this country is beginning to show results.'' Hodson said. An honorary doctor of laws degree was conferred on Hodgson after he addressed nearly 1.400 students receiving degrees from U.C.'s 19 colleges and branches. About. 6,000 people besides the students attended the ceremonies. wa STORE TDKCf DRASTIC IKTIOn WITH A AnrnsTK pRicc-smnsiiinc AUGUST RED TACJ CLOSED MONDAY SALE STARTS TUES-, AUG. 29th DAILY 9'til 6 OPEN WED.
