Crowder, 76. vf Walton, Roane County, died Saturday in Roane General Hospital. He was a retired employe of United Fuel Gas Co. with 33 years service. Mr. Crowder was a native of Kanawha County and a resident of Walton for 11 years. Surviving: wife. Opal J.; sons, James of Reedy, Sonny L. of Walton; sisters, Mrs. Vera Tinsley of St. Albans, Mrs. Vada Cooper of Dunbar, Mrs. Alpha Johnson of Charleston. Sen-ice will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sinnett Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Larry Haught officiating. Burial will be in Even Tide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today. Elgin Hall BECKLEY-Elgin M. Hall, 66, of Beckley, died Friday in a Beckley hospital. He was a native of Summers County and was a retired school teacher and businessman. Mr. Hall was a former sanitarian of Raleigh County and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, Beckley, the IOOF and the Moose Lodge. Surviving: wife. Alma; brother, O.D. of Beckley. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. William Thompson and the Rev. Robert Fuqua officiating. Emtombment will be in Sunset Park Mausoleum, Beckley. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today. Murrell Flynn SPRINGFIELD, Ill.-Murrell Lee Flynn, 54, of Springfield, 111., formerly of Ona, died Friday in Springfield. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving: sisters, Mrs. Erline Bledsoe and Mrs. Lovey Jean Deal of Ona, Mrs. Mozelle Wallace of Hurricane, Mrs. Helen Porter of West Hamlin, Mrs. Loranine Moore of Cincinnatti, Ohio, Mrs. Wanda June Chancy of Homa, La.; brother, Howard of Hamlin. Service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Heck Funeral Home. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery at Salt Rock. . Friends may call today after 2 p.m. Samuel MeWhorter PENSACOLA, Fia-Samuel Burdette MeWhorier, 57, of Pensacola, Fla.. formerly of Charleston, died Friday in Florida after a long illness. He was a former employe of the DuPont Co., Belle, and a retired employe of Monsanto Co., Pensacola. Mr. MeWhorter was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Gulf Breeze, Fla., and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving: wife, Ernestine B.; daughters, Mrs. Zela Adams and Mrs. Mary Morgan, both of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Penny Houser of Prattsville, Ala.; son, S.Sgt. John M. of Ft. Walton, Fla.; sister, Mrs. Jane M. Frye of Charleston; 11 grandchildren. The body has been donated to the University of Alabama for cancer research. Mrs. Frances Jordan Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Jordan, 47, of Hernshaw, died Saturday in the Memorial Division of the Charleston Area Medical Center. She was a member of the Hernshaw Methodist Church. Surviving: husband. Earl Jr.; son, Terry A. of Florence, Ky.; daughters, Mrs. Brenda J. She was a graduate of the University of Virginia Medical College, Richmond, and of Columbia University. She did graduate work at Lancaster Colby College, Waterville, Maine. Mrs. Kersey practiced in Peterstown, Monroe County, for 20 years. She was a member of the AMA, the West Virginia Medical Society, the Virginia Medical Society and the Southwestern Virginia Medical Society. She served as national medical examiner for the Ladies Society of Brotherhood of Railroad, Firemen and Engineers. She was a member of the . Baptist Church. '. Surviving: husband, Dr. W.W. Kersey Jr.; son, W.W. HI of Peterstown; daughter, Mrs. Margueritte E. Carman of Peterstown; brother, L.B. Nitro Man's Rite Monday Service will be Monday for an elderly Nitro man who was struck by a car shortly after he stepped off a bus in Nitro Friday night. Killed was Russell Lee "Nippie" Hicks, 72, of 4125 First Ave. ssPolice said Hicks was struck by an auto operated by Ronald Lewis Hughes, 24, of South Charleston. Hicks died in Thomas Memorial Hospital about two hours after the accident. A lifelong resident of Putnam County and a former Winfield resident, Hicks was a retired farmer. He was on his way home from a church meeting at the time of the accident. Surviving: brother, Everette of Nitro: sister. Hattie of Nitro.
