(Made for TV-1975) **'/ 2 . The TV adaptation of the classic story about Philip Nolan, the misguided patriot, who sided with Aaron Burr in his plan to join Texas and Mexico to the United States. In his ensuing court martial, he renounced his country and received a sentence never to set foot on American soil again, leading to 60 years of exile on the high seas. Cliff Robertson does very well in the title role. To add to the authenticity of the piece, most of the footage was shot in Mystic Seaport. Adventurer finds a map holding the location of a priceless gold sunburst, arrives to find an archeological expedition already there. 11:30 p.m.,O "A L E T T E R TO T H R E E WIVES,"(1949) ****. with Ann Sothern, Kirk Douglas, Linda Darnell, Jeanne Grain, Paul Douglas, and Thelma Ritter. "Letter" is addressed to three wives from their best friend, announcing that she is running away with one of their husbands--but she doesn't say which one. Each wife examines her marriage in flashbacks, wondering if the wandering husband is hers. 1:45 a.m.,O "WHIRLPOOL," (1949) ***, with Gene Tierney and Richard Conte. Suspenseful drama dealing with blackmail, hypnosis, and murder. 3:15a.m..O Question Box Q.--What is Richard Chamberlain up to in TV?
