The Charlies return home Thursday to open a seven-day home stand and host the Rochester Red Wings at 7:30 p.m. in a five-game series with a doubleheader Sunday. Hall of famer Mickey Mantle and Max Patkin. the clown prince of baseball, will high- light the promotion. A 30-minute fireworks show wil! be staged by Aambelli Fireworks Co. of New Castle, Pa. A parade featuring Maatle, former Charleston Senators of the past 2$ years led by manager Joe Beggs and Little League teams will get under way at 1:45 p.m. in the downtown area to start the day's activities. Mantle, former Senator Pete Riggan and the Charlies' Jim Campanis will compete in a home run contest at 7:15 p.m. Thursday with former P.A. and radio announcer Tommy Wobdrum as the master of ceremonies- Tickets for the game will be on sale at a sidewalk ticket booth on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the corner of Capitol and Lee Streets. » » » EACH FAN attending the game will receive an autographed photo of Mantle. Mrs. Lillian Powell Shawver. daughter of the late Watt Powell, will throw out the game ball.
