PAGE SIX i COURIER, CONNELLSVTLLE, PA. jTRIDAY. MAT THB I'AIUMOUST. "CONVICT No. 393" -- In which Irene Castle, celebrated everywhere as tie best known woman in America,, and the Weekly Review \are being shown today. Convict No. 093 is a Qrook play of tlie kind that every audience delights in. The denouement is unexpected. Held by ,the mystery and suspense the observer has made up his mind that the play can only end in one way, and then discovers that the way in which he expected it to end is wrong after all, Tliere is plenty of action and considerable thrill. Mrs. Castle as Roslya A/re has escaped from jail, where she has beer- sent for another's offense. She is recognized by a former fellow prisoner, who sees" in the girl's prosperity, aft opportunity for blackmail, and who · enlists the aid of a gang of crooks to j carry it out.. Rdslya is an easy victim, as she has fallen in love with, a wealthy young man who doubtless | would turn- against her if lie knew j her past. The young man hears Roslyn in, conversation with the leader of the gang and learns that she consents to aid the crook steal t h e jewels of one of the guests at th? house party. He watches that uig1it, sees the crook and the girl with Ixigguge all packed up for e'scapo and come i down stairs and tacn rushes out to j confront them. Mrs. Castle danced, herself into society and then into the ' hearts of the public and this aa'.ural-j ly led to the motion picture studio, j where she has added other legions to | her amirers, who have cow grown, to j fell that· they know her personally.] Monday, Viola Dana will be featured | in "-Breakers Ahead," 'a live-part; Metro production, in which *he popular little start is given an excellent opportunity .to display her dramatic ORPHE13X THEATRE. "LOVE LETTERS."--;As Eileen Harland, young wife of a district attorney, Dorothy Dalton in "Love betters," makes a determined struggle for her husband's confidence. In her girlhood she had written indiscreet letters to Raymond Morela'nd. who poses as «, teacher of erotic Eastern creeds, but is in reality a cad and a villain i of the deepest dye. How she sacr:'- j fices herself to obtain these letters, only to fail "and be accused of Moreland's- murder, and how her husband's assistant, also an old lover oE hers, clears her make a gripping photoplay. It is to be shown at this theatre today and tomorrow. Also Billy West in "The Scholar," a roaring King Bee comedy. layman. H. Howe has made a picturesque tour of Alaska, _an important feature of his latest Travel Festival which comes to the Orpheum on Monday. One of the big things of Mr. Howe's screen excursion through America's northern possession is a su- rios of views ot icebergs in Uieir moment of formation. After great risk and delay, the persistent Howe cameraman recently caught some actually amazing "close-ups" of huge icebergs breaking off from primeval glaciers and crashing into the i-ea. Some of these glaciers are 75 to 350 miles long and 4QQ feet high. But it takes something more than a pile of brick and mortar to make a store;-it is the spirit of the insHration that creates a busincw. When our old store was destroyed e i g h t, e e n months ago FRANK SEDER WITHOUT A BUILDING were yet a REAL force in the business life of Westfmi Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and West Virginia. This was shown when we took over our present temporary store, the business of FRANK SEDER was resumed immediately as if there had been no interruption. So we want to impress the public with the fact that in the new Frank Seder Balding, large and imposing as it is, there will be found on · every floor, in every department, in every nook and corner, the OLD f:RANK SEDER SPIRIT. We intend to be OURSELVES regardless of the clothes we wear. The new building simply gives us the opportunity to offer GREATER ASSORTMENTS, BETTER SERVICE and BETTER VALUES than ever before.
