Miller (above) as new director of the department's Travel Development Division. He will be responsible for travel promotional campaigns and travel development. BUSINESS ConsoI Begins Safety Program for Foreman The Mountaineer Division of Consolidation Coal Co. has begun a safety program for all mine foremen in the division at the Sugar Run Portal of Loveridge Mine near Fairview, says H. E. Mauck, division vice president. This five-week program stresses Consol's goal of achieving "safe job accomplishment on the part of each Consol employe." explains Louis C. Sabo, division safety instructor. Mauck says the foreman training program is one of several designed by Consol to reduce mine accidents. and Thomas H. Maddox, secretary-treasurer. At the association's annual meeting, service awards were given to Frank A. Baer II, president of the state insurance agents group, and to C. T. McHenry, executive vice president. William R. Peery, Carbide architect, has been elected to a three-year term as director of the Middle Atlantic Region of the American Institute of Architects. Peery is president of the West Virginia Chapter of AIA. The region includes the Mountain State, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia. New treasurer of Continental Oil Co., parent company of Consolidation Coal, is Thomas S. W i n t o n , who j o i n e d the company as an admin- i s t r a t i v e trainee in 1956. W i n t o n , a Consol vice p r e s i d e n t , succeeds E. I. Parsons WINTON Jr., who has resigned. Winton is a native of Oklahoma and GRADUATE OF THE University of Oklahoma. Kenneth Clark of Ramsey Insurance Agency has been elected president of the Kanawha County Association of Independent Insurers. Other officers are C. Edward Gaunch, vice president. Four members of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants have been admitted to membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. They are Robert Lee Hardy Jr. of Charleston, Percy S. Curry Jr. and David Lee Ramkey of Bluefield and Miss Becky E. Kennedy of New York, formerly of West Virginia. Miss Kennedy, an analyst with Union Carbide Corp, maintains active membership in the West Virginia society. The West Virginia Department of Public Safety is offering the Seat Belt Convincer free of charge to industrial groups, schools and fairs for on the spot demonstrations on the s a f e t y importance of wearing car seat belts. Herman, a Logan representative of Aetna Life Casualty, has been named to the company's honorary society, the Corps of Regionnaires.
