43 Mrs. Stanley Captures Pie Honors When Mr. Oren Stanley, of Aylmr r, makes pies.' she mikes half I dozen at a time. Al Tuesday's second show k ins of home-made baking at Central Canada Exhibition, her apple, raisin, and raspberry pies with fancy top crust, each took a first prize. Mrs. Stanley is no novice to baking. She has a husband and seven children to cook for. Every weekend she bakes pies and during the week makes , cakes . and ..cookies. ' She doesn't always stick to . recipe, but knows "when ' the dough is Just right by the i feet of it." ' In the Ottawa competitions : for the first time last year, , her pies were first-prize win-: ners then too. She has also . taken firsts it the Aylmer and Metcalfe fairs. Mrs. Stanley gave us the ; recipe for her price-winning . pastry and the fillings, for , epple and raspberry pies.
