Entries in tournament singles classes must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday since the singles' draw will be made Wednesday evening. Entries will be taken in doubles classes until 5 p.m. Saturday. Singles matches only will be played Saturday with another round of singles and pos. sibly some doubles matches scheduled on Sunday. The tournament is tpoasored by the Gazette, Puritan Sportswear, The Diamond Big Racquet Shop and Teuls Inc. There are 13 classes in the tournament. In the women's division are women's singles and doubles, Women's II singles and doubles (for entrants 25 years of age and over) and Women's III singles and doubles (for players 35 years of age and over). The men's division is divided into the men's singles and doubles, junior veteran men's singles and doubles (for men 35 years of age and over) and senior men's singles and doubles (for men 45 years of age and over). There also is a mixed doubles class. For tournament purposes, ages will be reckoned as of Oct. 31, 1975. In other words, if a woman player will be 25 any time before Oct. 31, she will be eligible to play in the Women's II class. * * * THE SCHEDULE of Saturday matches and seedings will be published in Friday's Gazette. Public Links Golf To Begin Monday WAILUA, Hawaii (AP) - The 50th annual U.S. Amateur Public Links Golf Championship gets underway here Monday without the defending champion. Charles Barenaba Jr. of Honolulu, last year's public links champion, has since turned professional. A total of 159 amateur golfers will compete in the six-day tournament over the tough Wailua golf course on the island of Kauai. The tournament this year reverts to match play competition. Thrity-six hole qualifying rounds will be played Monday and Tuesday. The low 64 golfers will enter 18-hole match play competition which begins Wednesday. The second and third rounds are scheduled for Thursday, with the fourth and semifinal rounds on Friday. The 36-hole finals are scheduled for Saturday. During the qualifying rounds, 33 three- man teams from 23 states will compete for the Harding Cup. The 36-hole aggregate of each player on a team will decide the team championship. Farley used a four-point handicap to down State Junior Champion David Albright of Charleston. 10-21, 22-20, 21-17 in the final match. Earlier, Farley downed last week's winner Norman Kilpatrick and Charleston's Bruce Sorgman.
