ISC -Mav 30, 1976 A-frame Variation Interesting House By Aidy L*if 77i* JiKH-uiifd Prtu Here is a very interesting A-frame variation, with symmetrical wings on each side supported by sturdy piers, creating ample storage space under the bouse for cars, boats, trailers, etc. Under most circumstances, there will be a minimal amount of earth disturbance during the construction. Only the central section will require any type of excavation at all. The room areas provided by the wings- two bedrooms on one side, the kitchen and dining room on the other--round out a floor layout for comfort in any setting. · » * AN ENTRANCE bridge reaches the front door, which is diamond-paned. paneled and shuttered. In the foyer, there are three guest closets- including one with a walk-in arrangement that includes a stack of shelves. Directly off the foyer is the kitchen, -with counters, appliances and cabinets along all four walls and a triple window over the sin*. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen, with sliding glass doors to a huge deck area. · · · THE SPACIOUS living room features a two-story height over most of its space, with applied beams on the ceiling and the exterior wall done mostly in glass through, the double height. There is a fireplace in the living room with sliding glass doors offering ready access to the deck. The deck area, besides being reachable from the living, dining areas and one of the bedrooms, has two outside stairs directly to the sideyards. There are two bedrooms on this level, each featuring outstanding closet facilities. One bedroom has sliding glass doors to the deck. For added privacy, 1he wall shared by the two rooms is lined with closets. A full compartmented bath with twin vanities is placed so it is handy to the bed- T:-- L'P rooms and the rest of the house. · · · THE UPPER LEVEL of this plan by architect Oerick Kipp features a very large bedroom with full bath. A railed balcony overlooks the living room and looks out through the tall glass wall to the deck and beyond. This room would make a handsome master.suite and could be finished at the original time of construction or lat- TRAILER PORT DECK OVER CAH PR TWILER PCST KCK OVER ROOF LOKR FLOOR PLAN 58'-0- jl II I 25'-0- ~[!~ 16'-0' SECOND FLOOR Furniture Appliance . The lower level is continued in a simple rectangle with two sets of sliding glass doors opening to the back of the house. Utility and laundry rooms--the latter with a walk-in-closet-are included in this level, as are a large recreation room with fireplace and a lavatory. Outside, there are three areas sheltered by the deck that wraps around the living level above. These can be used-as previously mentiooed-to store cars, boats, etc., but can also double as sheltered outdoor areas for living and entertaining.
