1C July*, 1*75 Cynthia Spears, Robert S. Bird Marry in Cross Lanes Church Open Reception Today POCA - Miss Cynthia Lyaa Spears, daughter of Mr. a»d Mrs. James A. Spears of Poca, became the bride of Robert Stanley Bird, SOB of Sir. and Mrs. Stanley Bird of South Bend, lot, on Saturday in the Cross Lanes Bible Church. The Rev. Howard Wilburn officiated and music was provided by Cathie Canary and Pam Suiter. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Danise Melton of Poca was maid of honor, Vicki Webb of Cross Lanes of was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Becky Myers of St. Albans, and the bridegrooms nieces, Becky Bird and Lori Marshall of South Bend. Sharon McClanahan of Cross Lanes and Marshall Patton of Nitro were flowergirl and ringbearer. * * * FRED BIRD of South Bend was best man for his brother. Ushers were Randy Spears of Poca, brother of the bride, Jock Mack of South Bend, Jerry Harrison of Nitro and Ed Webb of Cross Lanes. Following a reception at the church, the couple left for a wedding trip to Kentucky. MRS. R.S. BIRD . . .Former Cynthia Spean They will live in Texas after July 17 while he is serving with the Air Force. Mrs. Bird is a graduate of Poca High School and her husband graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School. They have lived most of their lives in Putnam County and now reside in Hurricane. She is the former Minnie Racer and he retired in 1970 from Union Carbide Corp. Since then, they have done a great deal of traveling and camping. They are parents of 10 children, Mrs. Lorene Wick of Scott Depot; Miss Frances Ashworth, at home; Mrs. Juanita Lacy and Mrs. Rachel Byrnside of St. Albans; Mrs. Reba Hodges of Dunbar; Ray Ashworth of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Paul Ashworth of Hurricane; Mrs. Barbara Knapp of Culloden; Danny and Michael Ashworth, both of Winfield.
