It's been a year today Mom That you left us on our own, It was so hard to realize Until the summer brought us home. You weren't there to greet us, With your usual happy smile. You were always so pleased to see us After such a long, long while.

No, you weren't there this summer. At the lake where we always met. And it was real hard to be there And look at the chair where you set. I'd glance at the well when we docked. Every morning, all summer long, Cause often you'd be there waiting To greet us when wecame'alongy But you weren't there this summer And it hurt very much, you know We'd walk up the path without youv And talk about a year ago.

When you were still around and happy And we'd sit and talk and laugh You and me and Jennie By the trailer, at the end of the path. We watched for you this summer Every ti me we turned our heads But it looks like you're gone forever, Mom, And we loved you much more than we said So say Hello to Daddy, You know we miss him too. And we patiently wait until the time When we're all reunited with you. Sadly missed and always remembered Daughter Shirley, son-in-law Bill and sister Jennie.
