THANKS to St. Jude for favour rendered. R.C., OBITUARIES Vaudeville comedian Joey Faye ENGLEWOOD, N.J. Joey Faye, theveteran vaudeville comedian who amused a whole new generation as a' dancing bunch of green grapes in the' Fruit of the Loom commercial, has died. He was 87.

Faye, born Joseph Anthony Palladino on New York's lower east side, died Saturday at his home here. Over a 65-year career, he moved from vaudeville to Broadway to motion pictures and the small screen. He took dramatic as well as comedic roles, but nobody questioned which was his favourite. Playing second banana to such medians as Sid Caesar, Phil and Jack Albertson, Faye amassed a li-2 brary of more than 18,000 jokes. As television developed, Faye worried that it was killing his beloved vaudeville.

Instead, he found a whole new popularity from working in televi-' sion commercials. Cuban poet Loynaz LOS ANGELES TIMES, AP MEXICO CITY- Dulce Maria Loynaz, a Cuban poet who won belated ac-. claim in her country despite her out -ofvogue, apolitical style and whose single novel was a precursor to "magical realism," has died at age 94.
