12A THE Teacher publishes service handbook A teacher at Stephen F. Austin School in Bryan has published a handbook for use in the home and community service component of Coordinated Vocational and Academic Education. Patricia Baca said 70 schools in Texas already have placed orders for her handbook. The book was written as part of Baca's course work at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Materials in the handbook include study sheets, worksheets, skits, puzzles, evaluation devices, notes on filmstrips, key points for teacher demonstrations and other instructional aids.

The Coordinated Vocational and Academic Education program is designed for students with special learning needs, Baca noted. Her guide has been field tested by teachers throughout the state. Deaths and funerals Mrs. Corona HEARNE Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Corona, 94, of Hearne, will be at 10 a.m.

Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne with the Rev. Robert A. Fuchs officiating. Burial will be St.

Mary's Cemetery in Hearne. A Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Corona was born in Italy, Sept.

15, 1883. She had lived in Hearne about 73 years and died Friday at the Robertson County Community Hospital in Hearne. She was a housewife, a member of Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne. Survivors include three sons, Carl Corona, Jack Corona and Willie Corona all of Hearne: eight daughters, Mrs. Agnes Perone, Mrs.

Mary Perone, Mrs. Frances Reistino, Mrs. Rose Reistino, Mrs. Lena Accurso all of Hearne, Mrs. Josephine Angonia and Mrs.

Jo Ann Fazzino of Bryan and Kathryn Monte of Houston; 18 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren and eight great great- grandchildren. Mrs. Renda Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Renda, 82, of 1401 Memorial Dr. in Bryan are scheduled for 2 p.m.

Sunday at CallawayJones Funeral Chapel. Father John Driscoll and Father Kirby Garner of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Mrs. Renda died Friday at a local nursing home.

She was born July 23, 1895, in Brazos County. Survivors include her husband, Samuel Renda of Bryan; a son, Vincent Scambray of Bryan; one brother, Paul Muth of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Januse of Navasota; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One injured, Gus John Schoppe, 83, of Lyons are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Virgil Pecht, Rev. R.F.

Buck, Sr. and Rev. Riley Sanson will officiate. Burial will follow at Lyons Cemetery. Mr.

Schoppe died Saturday morning in a Brenham nursing home. He was born Nov. 11, 1894, in Lyons and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was employed for many years with the Santa Fe tie-treating plant in Somerville. He was also a member of the United Church of Christ in Lyons.

Survivors include four daughters, Esther Ulich of Lubbock, Mrs. Langham. of Caldwell; Vivian Caldwell of Bryan; and Mrs. Gloria Schrader of Brenham; two sons, Gus Schoppe Jr. of Houston and L.D.

Schoppe of Somerville; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Bentke of Lyons, Mrs. Mamie Neimann of Brenham and Mrs. Alvina Bentke of Somerville; one brother, Walter Schoppe of Somerville; 17 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandaughter. Mrs.

Acosta, 22 of 1700 Newton St. in Bryan with possession of marijuana and attempting to elude police. Acosta's companion, Larry DeLeon, 21 of 810 Holt St.

in Bryan was Police charged with littering. Acosta is now in Brazos County Jail on a $225 bond. DeLeon posted a $28 bond and was released. "NEXT TO SKAGGS" SAT. 9 A.M.- 6P.M. had been holding Jo Pugh, 28, and her daughter, Trinity, hostage in an unmarked, yellow police cruiser he had commandeered earlier in the day. Mrs. Swingler died Friday evening at TorbettHutchins Memorial Hospital in Marlin. She was born Jan. 14, 1907, in Jesse, and lived most of her life in the Bremond area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bremond.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Swingler of Bremond; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Goode of Old Ocean; three grandsons and one granddaughter. one dead after auto accident BRENHAM A 19-yearold Houston man was killed and a second man injured when the car in which they were riding went out of control and overturned 1.2 miles north of Brenham early Saturday. James Allen Kolajajak of 4418 Libbey Lane in Houston was driver of the 1972 pickup truck, which was traveling north on the Highway 36 Loop when the car went out of control on a curve, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Billie Jack Higginbotham, 20, of 2200 Wirt Road in Houston, a passenger in the vehicle, was injured.
