Jen Sansbury TB case found at DeKalb high school By STACY SHELTON A federal judge has delayed the deadline for gas suppliers to begin mixing ethanol into metro gasoline, pending the outcome of an appeal. The deadline was Jan. 13 until U.S. District Court Judge Clarence Cooper issued the stay of the federal requirement on Wednesday.

The deadline will be pushed back each day the court stay is in effect. Earlier this month, Cooper ruled that he did not have the power to overturn a federal requirement to sell an oxygenated additive designed to reduce smog in polluted metropolitan areas like Atlanta. The state of Georgia, which took the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to court over the requirement, is arguing that the reformulated gasoline will make this air quality worse and will cost drivers in the 13-county region an estimated 5 cents more per gallon. The EPA and ethanol suppliers say the additive will reduce some pollutants, including carbon monoxide.

Ethanol suppliers, which stand to gain a $1 million-a- day market in metro Atlanta, say the price of gasoline would not rise. Cooper allowed the stay while the case is appealed to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Fonseca said the conversation indicates that Clemmings knew the man. In each case, a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction is being offered by the Carole Memorial Reward Foundation. A sister of Clemmings, Jackie McAnuff, urged the public to tell police anything they know if you think not relevant.

DeKALB COUNTY Alcohol seized from site of 2 shootings State revenue agents and DeKalb County police have seized all the alcoholic beverages in a Columbia Drive nightclub where two men were shot last week. A police statement said Jazzy Adult Entertainment Club was found to be selling alcohol without a license. The statement said the club was the subject of a term by DeKalb vice officers before the seizure Wednesday night. A security guard was arrested for carrying an unauthorized handgun, but no other charges had been filed Thursday.

Two brothers from Lithonia, Keaton Ford, 27, and Jamal Ford, 22, were shot in the club parking lot early last Saturday, apparently after a quarrel inside. Both were critically injured but are expected to survive, said police Officer Dale Davis.
