OBITUARY DR. SIDNEY S. LEE 1922-1992 A memorial gathering was held at the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston on January 13, 1993, for Dr. Sidney Lee who died in Boston on November 29, 1992. Lee served on the Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, as Associate Dr.

Dean for Hospital Affairs from 1972 to 1983, as Chairman of the Department Epidemiology and Health (1972-1974) and as Co Director of the of Clinical Scholars' Program with Dr. Dauphinee (1973-1979). This had as its objective broad education of physicians fields other than program the traditional clinical fields, with a view to their providing leadership in the future development of medicine in North America. It was a program which embodied his own view of the profession's future. He left McGill in 1983 to become Director of the Michael Rees Hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Lee was a graduate of Yale University and a holder of four that University including a Doctorate in Public Health. It was also at Yale that degrees from he honed his innate ability in languages, and his and in French influenced his future significantly. During World War II, these pleasure achievements skills caused him to be recruited to the central headquarters of section in London, the cryptography war, he returned to the Faculty of the Harvard School of Public Health where England, monitoring communications in France. OBITUARY PAULA BLANCHAIN Of Sutton, Quebec on January 31, 1993 at the age of eighty-three at the Brome Missisquoi Perkins Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Francis Blanchain. She was a long time resident Montreal and a distinguished member of the Royal Air Forces Escaping Society (Canadian Branch). In recognition of her wartime service of saving Allied Airmen in Europe, she was honored and decorated by the governments of France, Great Britain and the United States. ALFRED FEINTUCH Dr. Alfred Feintuch, Executive Director of the Jewish Vocational Services of Federation CJA from 1950 until his retirement in 1985, died Monday, February 1, 1993 at the age of seventy-seven, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Feintuch, after graduation from Brooklyn College (in vocational guidance and psychology), showed an early aptitude for community service, working first in Washington for the U.S. Department of Labour, in child labour matters, and then after World War as Director of Vocational Guidance for the (N.Y.) United Service for New Americans. In 1950, in conjunction with his move to Montreal and assumption of the directorship of J.V.S., Dr. Feintuch integrated completion of his Ph.D.

(psychology) thesis at New York Union sheltered workshops and the establishment, under J.V.S., of a workshop for the vocational rehabilitation of the handicapped, which became a leader in its field. As well, under his professional direction, J.V.S. grew steadily in size and effectiveness in providing educational and vocational services. Always active in the field of psychology (including counselling of private patients) Dr. Feintuch was one of the few psychologists in Montreal who belonged to both the Division of Counselling Psychology and the Division of Clinical Psychology of the American Psychological Association, and was, as well, granted certification by the New York, Ontario and Quebec Boards of Examiners in Psychology.

Dr. Feintuch is survived by his wife Pearl, his daughter and son-in-law Dale and Nat Boidman, and three grandchildren, John, Scott and Terri..
