SHARPE, Lawyer, street, $1500. 5-room house on Osage street, new, It is reported that failure to get a right-of-way acrqss a certain tract of land northwest of Chanute is causing temporary embarrassment for the Kansas Natural Gas company.

This week the force of men who had been working between Petrolia and Humboldt north of Chanute was transferred to Wilson county and strung out from Vilas to Altoona. The reason for this transfer is said to have been an obstacle encountered in Allen county by the refusal of a property owner to sell a right-of-way across his land. The land owner lives in Humboldt, it is said, and has so far refused to agree with the pipe line company on terms. The company will change its route and go around the obdurate property owner if the right-of-way agent is unable to get him to place a reasonable figure on the privilege. The company seems to be getting its right-of-way as it goes along, and some of the land owners are holding out for a good stiff price.
