J. Beaulieu Funeral services will be held at 10.30 a.m. Thursday in Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Church, St. Johns, A. J.

Beaulieu, who died Sunday morning at his home following a long illness. He was 87. Mr. Beaulieu, born in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, was well known in education circles.

In 1909 he became a professor the St. John Catholic Commercial Academy. He was promoted to principal in 1912, a position he held until 1915. In 1915 he became director of the academy and held that post until 1947. During his career, Mr.

Beaulieu held high honors in the education field. was decorated by His Majesty King George and also by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. His wife, the former Rose Delima Dubois, predeceased him in 1941. He is survived by five sons, Jean-Paul, St. Johns; Armand, Montreal; Emile, Montreal; Jean, St.

Johns and Gabriel, Montreal and by three daughters, Mrs. Albert Racicot (Berthe), Longueuil; Mrs. ebe Trottier (Estelle), St. Johns; and Mrs. George Thomas (Simone), Granby; and several grandchildren.

Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Sir Patrick Gower HENLEY ON THAMES-4PSir Patrick Gower, 77, private secretary to three British Prime Ministers-Bonar Law, Ramsay, Baldwin MacDonald died and Stansuddenly Monday. Before the Second World War, Gower set off a parliamentary storm by resigning from government service and becoming chief publicity officer for the Conservative Party. Labor Party supporters charged the action was unethical since as secretary to MacDonald he had held the confidence of a Labor Prime Minister.

Gower was knighted in 1924. He leaves a wife and a son and a daughter by a previous marriage. The cause of death was not announced. Dr. J.

Raymond, 64, coroner of Quebec County, died at his home today of an apparent heart attack. Dr. Raymond, also assistant coroner of Portneuf County, had presided during the weekend over a number of inquests into accidental deaths in the region. Stanley Knowles (NDPWinnipeg North Centre) had asked Mr. Favreau about a statement by Macdonald, self-styled former RCMP undercover agent, that he spied on Mr. Coldwell on RCMP orders. The allegation was made Saturday in Barrie.

Mr. Favreau said he had anticipated the question. The RCMP files had been checked thoroughly and there was never such inan' vestigation. Opposition Leader Diefenbaker termed Mr. Macdonald's statement "beyond contempt." He said all MPs were delighted to hear Mr.

Favreau's reply. Mr. Coldwell, now living in retirement in Ottawa, headed the CCF Party from 1942 until 1958. Funeral Wednesday, at 1:15 p.m. from the chapel of J. W. MacGillivray and Sons, 5644 Bannantyne Verdun.
