Condemnation proceedings for the acquisition of right way along a 2.5-mile section of K-47 west from Altoona preparatory a relocation of the highway, were opened last week by the State Highway Commission. Plans for the proposed new location call for the route to continue straight east instead of making the turn south, approximately 2.5 miles west of or Altoona, as it does the present time. By relocating this section of the road several sharp turns will be eliminated, a better alignment will be realized and a standard adequate grade can be constructed. Although no definite starting date has been announced the first work to be done will consist of grading and the erection of a bridge over the Verdigris river, Roy W.

Cox, highway director, said. Even before any work order can be issued by the commission a satisfactory purchase of the right of way, bidding and contract approval must be completed, 1 he added. -N- "TULSA" PLAYING AT THE KLOCK THEATRE DEC. 4-5-6.
