Some of these days one of the boys will be injured an arm or a leg lost or may be killed out right- Their parents would then become aware of the fact that their boys have been spending their time in a very dangerous occupation. Fort Scott and other cities were anxious to secure Prof. Lieurance and offered him more money; but he will remain here as he has a decided liking for Fredonia.

So our people will expect some musical concerts par excellence through the summer evenings. With every assurance at hand that they will not be disappointed and it should be so. The best is none too good for Fredonia; and it the hope of the writer that in every matter pertaining to our civic welfare and betterment, of whatever character it may be, that we will proceed- along the same line, the best is none too good for Fredonia. And while the knocker knocks and the grumbler growls, lets smile and whistle and sing and get out and push for Fredonia aod everything that will help make it a still more attracive. enterprising and ideal town to live in and make a living in.

A hundred years from date we will all be pretty much "hors de combat" and moss covered, hence let's be pretty much' alive now and unitedly work for the welfare of our pleasant little city and make it as good as the best.
