prescribed by physicians for rheumatism There is no need of internal treatment in any case of muscular or chronic rheumatism and more than nine out of every ten cases of the disease are of one or the Deceased Home steadsrs Must Cultivate Land For Fourteen Months A decision of the general land office April 6th holds that in order to enable heirs of the homestead entrymen to submit commutation proof of his entry they must show both residence on and cultivation of the land for fourteen months by the entrymen or their heirs or partly by both The same rule applies in cases where the commutation proof is submitted by the widow of the entrymen Another decision held that when the entryman sold im provements on the land or relinquished his entry he was not entitled to make a second homestead ntry HI New Code Com mission Needed Almost every day discovers some new inconsistency or contradiction in the statutes of this Territory Many of these inconsistencies can be reconciled by the courts and many of the contradictions can be explained away but many of them are admittedly fatal and all of them are embarrassing A job has plainly been cut out for another code commission Another ridiculous but perhaps harmless mistake has just come to light in the bill designed to relax the rigors of the first anti gambling bill passed at the late session In the repealing clause of the last modifying bill special mention is made of Act No 85 which is hereby repealed The legislature had no idea what Act No 85 was but had in mind House Bill No 85 the Duffy anti gambling bill The records of the bills are lost sight of when they come to be entered among the laws so that they are never again known by their original numbers Therefore it would be a strange coincidence if the number of the act should be the same as the number of the bill Now in the words of the anti gambling act it does not repeal the former anti gambling act as was intended but Steve Roemers theatrical license bill which regulates th license rates in the various communities The error however is not regarded with alarm as the intent of the legislature is plain Valley Milling Company Elects Officers At a meeting
