Born in Lau-'. zon, Quebec on June 18, 1895, he was edu--eated at Laval University and later at Queen's University (M.A.). Later he 'became Head of the Department of Modern Languages. Always active in ine iviiima in peacetime, he served during the war with the Military Government Sect.on of the 6th British Division (Canloan).

When Koln (Co- togne) fell to the Allies in 1945 he was appointed its Military Governor. After the war he headed the Army Translation Bureau in Ottawa and 'when RMC reopened, resumed his duties as Mead of the Department of Modern Languages. fh 1955. he was named Director ot studies at The College Mihtaire Royal de St-Jean.
