Santa Teresa, the Mexican woman, who has Ions been revered as a saint by the natives of Chihuahua, anj this locality, and who is said to poseeea the art of uealiug the sick simply by the laying on of hands, is believed to be more or lest reiponaible for the present outbreak among the Yaqui Indians. The El Paso Herald says: "Officer George Harold of El Paso, formerly a Texas ranger, says that he is confident that Santa Teresa is responsible for the outbreak. "Harold was one of the American officers who rounded up the ringleaders of the raid on the Mexican custom house at Paloraa, Chibuachua, a few years ago, He says Santa Teresa instigated that rebellion which was crushed in its iacipiency and that every rebel captured oa this side the line had a picture of the women saint on his person and the back of each photograph was inscribed with one of her prayers. 'It is uow belioveJ that she used her influence to incite the IndUn to revolt and rise against the Mexican rule. The womn is described as being frail and delicate looking and undoubtedly possesses magnetic power the eoarceof which is unknown.

"Hsrold and others are confident that the women's presence in the Yaqui country had a grpat deal to do with the uprising, now assuming alarming proportions." ro cLKAAhi: th: srMTK.ii Effectually yet gently, when costive or bilious, to permanently overcome habitual constipation, to awaken the kidneys and liver to a healthy activity, without irritating or weakening them, to dispel headaches, colds, or fevers, use Srup ot Figs, made by the California Fig Syrup Co. The large number of guests included residents from all over the county and the festivities in point of enjoyment and pleas a re will bs one long to be remembered by the fortunate attendants. The generous hospitality of the bost and hostess was of general comment, everything being provided and nothing left undone to make the occasion what It was a most jay-able event THE CATTLE COMBINE The Pcol May Iacludo Cochise Conntv lloldiugs It is reported that the Consolidated Cattle Company who are to control the large caltle Interests of Texas and New Mexico have also cast their ees toward Arizona and will endeavor to incorporate many of the larger Arizona cattle concerns into the mammoth pool.

As the largest cattle owners of the territory have their big herds in Cecliise county and the further faat that the ranges would be practically adjoining those in New Mexico, on which options are already secured, color is lent the theory that the proposed combination will alto operate in this territory and have boldings'in this county. Should the company embrace large individual cattle holders and companies in this county 100,000 cattle could be easily included in the deal and a clear range to the adjoining holdings io New Mexitotbe gained thereby. It is understood negotiations are now on and an effort being made to carry the plans into efftct. As the matters of the company now stand nothing less than the round-up of 600,000 bead of cattle on ranehes in the pan handle district of Texas and New Mexico is contemplated by the promoters of the propeasd Consolidated Company. The caUle butineia during the last few years has furnished enormous profits to ranchmen and breeders.

At present tba prices for cattle on the Chicago market are higher than they ha've been during any summer in the last twenty ytars. The feeding conditions on the ranches are also better than they have been for several years, altogether the chance are favorable that with the formation of the cattle poel the Arizona interests may be found ir.clmltil.
