Mr. Louie Page Lathem, 84, of Atlanta, passed away July 22nd after a long illness. Mr. Lathem, an Atlanta native, was the retired president of Lathem Time Corporation, a company founded by his father and grandfather in 1919 and currently run by his son, William Lathem of Atlanta. The eldest son of Louie Page Lathem, Sr.

and Genevieve Dennison Lathem, he was born June 29, 1921 in Atlanta. He graduated from north Fulton High School in 1938 and earned a BS degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech in 1942 where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Upon graduation, Mr. Lathem entered the U.S. Navy and served in the South Pacific.

Upon his honorable discharge in 1945, Mr. Lathem returned to Atlanta and went to work for the company to which he would commit his professional life. Mr. Lathem and his late first wife, Betty Copeland Lathem had four children: Linda Lathem Wible of Mary Ester, FL, Louie Page Lathem, III, of Canton, GA, Mary Ellen Lathem Warenik of Hiawassee, GA, and William Copeland Lathem of Atlanta. Mr.

Lathem was predeceased by his first wife Betty and his brother George Wood Lathem of Atlanta. Known by family and friends as a great story teller and dancer, Mr. Lathem was a member of many organizations including the Atlanta Kiwanis Club, Land Lakes Civic Club, he was a former board member of Wesley Woods, former president of Georgia Business Equipment Association, a member of the Salvation Army advisory board, and past chairman of The Tommy Nobis Center. He was also a founding member of the Cherokee Club and was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church since 1947. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lathem of Atlanta, his sister, Genevieve Gray of Arcadia, FL, his four children, a stepson, John Box of Atlanta, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305. A private interment service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 3:30 on Monday afternoon, July 25th, at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, Dr. Don Harp and the Reverend Betsy Lunz, officiating. He was 85 years old and was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1919.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel; three adoring sons, Robert, Bruce and Paul; three daughters-in-law; six grandchildren; and sister, Loraine Daniell. He served his country in World War II and retired as a Commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve after 30 years of service. He holds an B.S.

in Finance and M.B.A. degree from New York University. He spent most of his professional career in international banking and retired from the Bank of New York as a group vice president in charge of the Far East in 1985. He went onto a career in his retirement of counsulting, guest lecturing and teaching college at St. Josephs College in New York.

He and his wife, Ethel moved to Peachtree City in 1995. They are members of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 24th in the evening between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell Son Funeral Home, 200 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, Georgia. The funeral will be held on Monday, July 25th at 10:00 AM at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 101 Peachtree Parkway North, Peachtree City, Georgia.

Mr. Green was alife long resident of New Orleans. He graduated from Warren Easton High School and completed his further education at Tulane University in 1939. After completing college Mr. Green served in the U.S.

Navy where he captained APC 45 retiring at the rank of Commander. After his time in the service Mr. Green had a 30 year career with various service organizations including American Red Cross, Cultural Attractions Fund of Greater New Orleans retiring as Managing Director of the United Fund of Greater New Orleans. He received numerous honors for his commitment to community service and was awarded the Honor of the Silver Beaver of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr.

Green is survived by his children Barbara and Marvin Moate of Atlanta, GA; William F. and Sherry Green of Columbus, GA; Betty and Leonard Blount of Statesboro, GA; Bobby and Melissa Green of Mandeville, LA. Also by his grandchildren: Marly Moate Page, Miller and Marvin Moate; Bill and Brandon Blount; and William, Richard, and Robbert Green. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Fisk Green, a daughter Beverly Nell Green, and his brothers David and George Green. A funeral will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Canal St.

He was a a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Athens, TN. He attended Milligan College, and graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis.

He was associated with the Campbell Clinic in Chattanooga, TN and served 2 years at Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Warner Robbins, GA. He practiced at a rural clinic in Erwin, TN and then completed his residence in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Macon, GA and Augusta, GA. He then had amedical office on Peachtree St. near Shallowford Hospital and later at a Dunwoody Branch for a total of 35 years. He served as chief of staff in at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta and served on the State of Georgia Board of Medical Reviewers.

He did Mission work at home and abroad in Africa, India, Trinidad, Phillipines and taveled down the Amazon River. He served as the President of the Southern Baptist Medical-Dental Fellowship. After retiring at age 71, he moved to Englewood, TN, where he volunteered for the Good Faith Clinic and was on the Advisory Board of the Full Circle Crisis Pregnancy Center in Athens. Survivors wife, Dolores Guffey Dees of Englewood; daughter Kathryn Warner of Athens, TN; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Claire Dees of Atlanta, GA and David and Tracy Dees of Athens, TN; sister, Phyllis Spears of Houston, TX; 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. (Bob) Carman, age 81, who resided at 222 Parkview Plymouth, IN, formerly of Bremen for the previous 6 years, died at 11:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2005 in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home. He was born May 18, 1924 at Grosse Pointe Michigan to Leon Carman and Ethel Anderson Carman. Bob graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1941. Attended Marietta College and Western Michigan University. He received an Honorable Discharge in April of 1941 from the U.S.

Marine Corps after serving in the United States, Guam, Okinawa and China. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia in 1988. He leaves a daughter, Carey and Charles Whiteman, granddaughter, Kelly and grandson, Kyle, all of Bourbon. He also leaves a son, Christopher and Janet Carman, and two granddaughters, Brittany and Brianna, and a grandson, Christopher Hunter, all of Atlanta, GA. His brother, Richard Carman of Birmingham, MI and a step-brother, Robert King of Surprise, AZ; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Carman managed the Fidelity and Surley Bond Departments for the Continental Insurance Company in their offices in Detroit, Chicago, Louisvile, Kansas City and Atlanta, GA.
