She was born Gussie Louise Harleston on September 28, 1916 in Charleston, S.C., but changed her named to Edwina in honor of her uncle, artist Edwin Harleston. She graduated form Talladega College and received her Masters Degree at Northwestern University. She worked as a reporter and editor for the Baltimore Afro-American, the Chicago Defender, and Negro Digest. Mrs. Whitlock and her husband, Henry Oliver Whitlock, published a newspaper, the Gary American, in Gary, until his death in 1960.

Retiring to Charleston, she founded the League of Allied Art and edited the Avery Institute Bulletin. She and author, Edward Ball collaborated on Sweet Hell Inside: A Family published last fall by HarperCollins. Survivors include: four children, Henry O. Whitlock Jr. of Las Vegas, Sylvia Elise Whitlock and Mae Whitlock Gentry, both of Atlanta; and Edwin Harleston Whitlock of Kona, HI; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

WODESHICK Martin R. Wodeshick of Jonesboro, passed away November 15, 2002. Mr. Wodeshick was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, and was also a member of the V.F.W.

He also served in the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include: his wife, Helen T. Wodeshick of Jonesboro; and a son, Edward M. Wodeshick of Reno, NV.

He was the past president of the Panama City Coca- Cola Bottling Company and VIK Limited. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah Virginia Vickery. He was a Charter Member Emeritus of the Econfina Club. He is survived by his son, Jay M. Vickery of Panama City Beach; 2 sisters, Martha Bingham and husband, Tom of Panama City, Mae Middleton of Quincy, Florida; sister-in-law, Genevieve Vickery of Panama City, and many nieces and nephews.

Box 502, Milford, CT. 06460. THOMAS Constance MacFeeley Thomas of Dunwoody, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2002. Constance the daughter of the late Wilkes S. and Selena MacFeeley, was born June 29, 1919 in Savannah, Georgia.

She was a member of the one of the early classes of Armstrong Junior College, where she graduated in 1939 with highest honors. She received a B.A. in Engilsh from the University of Georgia in 1941, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. In her early career, she was a teacher.

In 1943 she became a reservations agent for the fledging Atlanta Company, Delta Airlines. Constance, an avid reader of literature and current events, was active in literary groups of the Coral Gables (FL) Club and The American Association of University Women. She will always be remembered for her breadth of knowledge on any topic and her wit. But her family, friends and daily acquaintances will remember her most for her life witness and testimony to Jesus Christ and devotion to her family. Constance is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edmund W.

Thomas, of Dunwoody, GA; her daughter, Constance S. Thomas of Atlanta, GA; her two granddaughters, Elizabeth Colgate Thomas and Katherine Anne Thomas of Waynesboro, VA. Her son, Edmund W. But it was the ever-present smile that most who knew the Powell, Goldstein, Frazer Murphy associate will remember. Funeral Services for Ms. Quinn, 28, of Mableton will be Monday, November 18, 3 PM, Castellaw Funeral Home, Smyrna. The third year associate praticed primarily in intellectual- property and commercial litigation. Winner of a coveted legal award, she dreamed of following her father into the courtroom and one day sitting first chair.

Natasha was very proud of winning a 2002 Burton Award for excellence in legal writing, said her husband, Dan. She did not attend the awards ceremony in New York because he could not accompany her. It was during a 1999 summer internship with the Georgia Supreme Court that she met Dan, a staff attorney with the Court. He was attracted to the bright law student who had lived in Spain as a child, worked at Walt Disney World as a teenager and maintained her affinity for Disney movies as an adult. They celebrated their October 2001 Las Vegas wedding with a three-week tour of Australia.

And as a young professional, she was well respected by the partners of Powell Goldstein. was a promising young associate admired by her collegues for her sharp intellect, motivation and dedicated to her friends and said Powell Goldstein partner Hilary Harp. A 2000 graduate of the Mercer University School of Law, Natasha was a member of the Mercer Law Review. She followed her father, Warner Olds, a member of Class of 1967 and crimi- mal defense attorney in Broward County Florida, to the school.

While in law school, she was administrative editor to the Mercer Law Review and participated in the Vale Corporate Law Moot Court Competition. She earned a B.S. with honors from Florida Atlantic University in 1996 and was on the Honor List. Natasha was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Business Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi. Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2000, she was also a member of the Georgia and Atlanta bar associations.

Survivors, in addition to her husband and father, include her mother, Carol Olds of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a sister, Kirsten, a Ph.D student at the University of Michigan. HABBERFIELD DEAN ALAN HABBERFIELD 1958-2002 With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of Dean Alan Habberfield, at the age of 44, on November 15, 2002 due to a heart attack. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Karla Laird Habberfield and their three daughters, Grace, Charlotte and Rachel of Alpharetta, GA. In addition, he is survived by his mother, Wilmadean Habberfield of Pekin, IL; a brother, Mark (Marcia) Habberfield of Elgin, IL; a sister, Mary (William) Ashbaker of Pekin, IL and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. On his side, he is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Barbara Laird of Aliso Viejo, CA; sister-in- law, Annette (John) Belles of Aliso Viejo, CA; and brothers-in-law, Cal (Miriam) Laird and Brien (Edna) Laird of San Juan Capistrano, CA; and Lima, Peru, respectively. Dean was a loving husband, terrific father, adored son, brother and friend, accomplished athlete and all around good guy who was loved by all.

He was born on August 9, 1958 and was a native of Pekin, Illinois, where he was raised by his mother and late father, Ralph Habberfield. He graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University and took up a long and successful career in the plastics industry. He never met a golf course, tennis racquet or beach that he did not like. For many years, the Habberfield family made their home in Orange County, California, where Dean and Karla met. Since their first meeting, he was a partner, friend and soulmate for Karla, with whom he shared his birthdate.

For the last decade, Alpharetta, Georgia has been the family home, where Dean has been devoted to raising his daughters and where he became a much loved figure within the community. His dedication to his children was immeasurable and he will be sorely missed. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 PM at the Louie E.
