Michigan drops to 11-2-1. Gym Dog freshman Courtney Kupets won the all-around competition for the seventh straight meet with a career-best 39.8. She tied career marks on vault (9.95) and bars (9.975), and set a career high with a 9.95 on the balance beam. Kelsey Ericksen and Katie Heenan also set season bests in the all-around, with a 39.6 and 39.5, respectively. Ericksen had a career-high 9.95 on vault and Heenan ended the meet with a career-high 9.95 on the beam.

BASEBALL Jackets win 16th in a row Mike Trapani two-out, eighth-inning run-scoring single capped a comeback from a 6-3 and led unbeaten Georgia Tech to a 7-6 victory over visiting Virginia, the 16th consecutive victory to start the season. Joey Side and Gordon Beckham combined for six hits and eight RBIs as Georgia beat visiting Louisville 13-5. Northeastern rallied for four runs in the ninth to edge host Georgia State 5-2. SOFTBALL Dogs sweep Razorbacks in softball softball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Arkansas 6-1 and 6-3. Georgia Tech defeated Wright State 8-0 and Illinois-Chicago 5-2, at the Adidas Invitational in Clearwater, Fla.

COLLEGES Panthers re-sign Foster for 3 years, $14.5 million STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS DeShaun Foster agreed to a three-year, $14.5 million contract with the Carolina Panthers that makes him their star running back. Foster, who spent most of the past three seasons playing in the shadow of Stephen Davis agreed to the deal late Friday night. The deal was completed about an hour before the start of free agency and removed the transition tag the Panthers had placed on Foster two weeks ago. Completing the deal was good news for the Panthers, who appear to be on the verge of losing at least two of their top free agents. Carolina has been unable to reach a deal with linebacker Will Witherspoon and safety Marlon McCree had a Saturday visit scheduled with the San Diego Chargers.

TRACK AND FIELD Trammell wins second title Terrence Trammell of Ellenwood won his second world 60-meter hurdles title at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Moscow. Trammell, a two-time Olympic silver medalist in the 110- meter hurdles, ran the fastest time in the world this year, 7.43 seconds. Trammell won the bronze medal in the 60-meter dash Friday while battling a stomach ailment. Karen Rosen MORE PRO FOOTBALL Carroll charged with misdemeanor Green Bay Packers cornerback Ahmad Carroll has pleaded innocent in Fayetteville, to misdemeanor charges that he allegedly slapped the hand of a police who was trying to speak to him. An attorney for Carroll entered the pleas Friday to charges of assaulting an refusing to submit to arrest and disorderly conduct.

Carroll, a former Douglass High star, played for Arkansas in college. Kicker Joe Nedney re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers after a strong debut season with the club. Free agent defensive end Gerard Warren re-signed with the Denver Broncos, agreeing to a six-year deal. The Broncos also re-signed tight snapper Mike Leach to a four-year contract. The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy to a four-year contract.

ETC. Gladiators down Checkers again The Gwinnett Gladiators got goals from six different players and took a 6-3 ECHL win over visiting Charlotte, beating the Checkers for the second night in a row. Heather scored twice and the U.S. team beat Denmark 5-0 in the Algarve Cup in Faro, Portugal. Captain Kristine Lilly Abby Wambach and Natasha Kai also scored for the U.S.

team, its largest margin of victory in the 13-year history of the tournament. The U.S. only needs a tie with France on Monday to qualify for the March 15 against Germany.
