Call earlv and avoid the rush. The well-known and valuable mare, "Nellie," owned by Hon. J. H. Behan, has been sick for some time.

The death of the animal being only a question of a few days, the beautiful mare was shot. Nellie had a record as a pacer, second to none, on the coast; her loss is greatly deplored by all admirers of fine horses. Ihenew law relation to the collection of taxes, it has been discovered does not take effect until after January 1st, 1890. About 4 o'clock Wednesday evening, the roof of the small adobe building, adjoining A. Frank's store, fell in with a crash, fortunately injuring no one. There was no damage done, excepting that a new roof will have to be put on. There waa no reason to believe that the roof was unsafe, but upon examination it was found that the rafters had been "honeycombed" by a specie of fly -borer quite common in this territory.

Mr. Charlea Connor, master mechanic of the Southern Pacific in Yuma, has purchased the old Townsend place between the Tyner and Stein residence with the intention of bringing his mother and family here to reside permanently. They will make a desirable acquisition to Yuma society, and the situation for a home is the best in the town; a quiet pleasant neigh borhood. Mr. Connor did well in selecting this locality.

Charley is one of those young men with whom an acquaintance, like wine, improves with ave. Taylor D. MacLeod went up on the steamer Gila of the 18th. havinrr a skilled miners and a large camp supply to operate on his Alberta group of min es on the Clip vein. It ia intended to crowd developments during the winter months on thi8 property, and tunnel to tap the rich deposit of ore found on the surface of the "Great Expectation," claim.

The Clip mine has a record of $750,000 dividends in fire years operation, has now large bodies of low grade ore in place, awaiting an improvement in the value of silver, and the Alberta group of four claims being situate on an extension of the Clip mine, we anticipate the thorough developments projected for the winter months will result in the opening of another pajing mine in Yuma county. If the exploring results in success, they will be worked legitimately, for what is in them, and a milling plant be erected on the Colorado river for the ra-duction and refining of the ores. Mr. John Gandolfo has just returned from an extended visit to Europe, hiving visited the Paris exposition, his old home in Sestre Lcvante, Italy, his first visit to his child-' hood's home for many ears. A shrewd business man and careful observer of men and affairs, Mr.

Gandolfo returns again to the town in which from but a small be ginning he has by good business manage ment and honorable dealings builded up an establishment, that is excelled by few in the Territory, and in variety and excellency by none, with the vigor and further experience garnered in kis prolonged Outing, he is again with us with an abiding and emphasized confidence in the future of Yuma. And finding his business Affairs in a nourishing condition, to the credit of Mr. Sanguinnetti, who had entire charge of this vast establishment, and every, and all things pertaining thereto. There arc few gentlemen of Mr. Sanguinuetti's years who possess the business qualifications necessary to conduct an enterprise of this magnitud to so euccesnful a conclusion.

L. Hopkins, Postmaster. Out of the Breastworks. Tate Springs, July 4, 188S. The Swift Specific Atlanta, Gentlemen Seven years ago I contracted an exceedingly bad case of blood poison.

I tried a physician, the best at command, but secured no benefit. My throat began to get sore, and my body coered with sores and ulcers. Going from bad to worse, I felt that my grave must be reached in the near future. I gave up the doctors' treatment, and with a despairing hope I commenced taking your medicine. 1 began to improve from the first bottle, and in a short time the ulcers healed, and my skin cleared off and was entirely well.

One year ao a case of catarrh developed in my system. The physician did his best, but could not cure me but two bottles of Swift's Specific gave me permanent relief. J. H. Robinson.

Kaufman, June 23, i8S3. The Swift Atlanta, Gentlemen I have been afflicted with a elan disease for about twelve years, and the best medical treatment failed to give me relief. I am now using Swift's Specific, and have received the greatest benefit from its use. Yours truly, Wm. Jones.

Serventi and ohn Gan rlolfo, returned fro'n Europe on Mon day morning last. Mr. Serventi paid the Sentinel office a pleasant visit yesterday. He gave an interestin account of the Pans exposition and said the American exinmc was "away up." Mr. Servuiti informed us that he and Mr.

Gandolfo crossed the ocean on their homo trip in th dteamer "Champaigns." Mr. Edison, the celebrated ulsctrician was a pasten ger oir the same steamer; Mr. Stir venti describes him as a very good Iookinsr. smooth faced geutliman; of pleasing address and appearing mon like a wellfed clergyman, than a noted inventor. Mr.

Serventi also remarked that the two finest buildings he saw on his travels, were, the Grand Opera House of Paris and the Chicago Cou House. He says that there seems to be more bustle and business in Chi cao and New York than in Paris, Mr. Serventi says that although he loves the sunny skies and picturesque scenery of his native country, Italy, he 'was glad to return "to America, the home of his adoption. Their Business Booming, Probably no one thing has caused such a general revival of trade at Frank's store as their giving away to their customers of so many free trial bottles of Dr. King's New Discovery for Consumption.

Their trade is simply enormous in this very valu able article from the fact that it always cures and never disappoints. Cuughs, Colds, Asthma, Bronchitis, Croup, aud all throat and lung diseases quickly cured. You can test it8efore buying by getting a trial bottle free; large size $1. Every bot tle warranted. Notice to the Publio That the public may not be de ceived by false statements, I hereby give public notice that all present and current legal demands for the support of the various public insti tutions, including superintendents or all other employees as passed by the old or Zulick Board are, upon presentation, audited by Auditor Hughes and have been so audited since July last, vvnen mere is money in the treasury to the credit of the fund against which the warrant is drawn it is paid in cash; when there is no money the treasurer endorses the warrant and it draws interest from that date, ex actly as has been done for two years past.

The cry that the wheels of busi ness are Deing blocked, or mat there is any just cause for the depreciation in Territorial warrants, is false and done by unscrupulous persons for their own vicious ends. There is no just reason why Territorial warrants should be depreciated. The Territory receives its funds in January, February and March and that has always been the season for redemption of warrants. The Territory's resources and ability to pay are better to-day than they ever were. So again I say, do not allow vicious misrepre sentations to effect your judgment as the value of your warrants.

They are as good to-day as they ever were, and yon will get your money just as soon as you would have done had there been no change of administration.
