Formula One car driver Niki Lauda said yesterday an injured right hand sustained in training nearly two weeks ago will prevent him from competing in the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, England, on Oct. 6. The Austria Press Agency said his replacement in the McLaren car at Brands Hatch would be John Watson of Northern Ireland Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna says he will boycott the South African Grand Prix on Oct. 19. Senna, who drove his Lotus to victory 11 days ago at the Belgian Grand Prix, had said he would go to South Africa if Lotus took part.

Senna's change in heart follows Brazil's adoption of sanctions against South Africa because of its apartheid policy. Golf In Savannah, Marlene Streit of Fonthill, slipped to a 76 yesterday but still managed to maintain a share of first place after the second round of the United States senior women's amateur golf championship. Streit, 1956 U.S. women's amateur and defending Canadian amateur senior champion, holds top spot with Mildred Stanley of Escondi-do, Calif. Stanley shot a second-round, 1-under-par 72 In San Antonio, Mike Gove finished off his career-best round, a 7-under-par 63, with birdies on his last four holes and took a one-stroke lead yesterday in the first round of the $350,000 Texas Open golf tournament.

Jim Rutledge of Victoria was only four strokes off the lead with a 67, while Richard Zokol of Vancouver carded a 69 and Dave Barr of Kelowna, B.C., had an opening 72. Miscellany In Lexington, plans to let pacer Nihilator go for the all-time speed mark in the mile yesterday were postponed, a spokesman at The Red Mile racetrack said. But Nihilator may make a time-trial run Saturday at the record of 1:49 15 set by his sire Niatross here in 1980, the track official said In Kitchener, it was announced that the 1987 world junior figure skating championships, originally slated for Sweden, will be held at the Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club. The Kitchener-Waterloo club, at the urging of the Canadian Figure Skating Association, first submitted its pro-posal last year to the International Skating Union to host the event. The offer was turned down and the ISU announced earlier this year that Sweden had been awarded the event.

The governing body then changed its mind and chose Canada to play host but no site was given. It was confirmed Wednesday that the 1987 championships will actually be held from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7, 1986, at Kitchener Auditorium In Seoul, Japan and South Korea won one gold medal each yesterday as the 14th men's world judo championships opened with 191 competitors from 39 countries battling for titles in eight weight divisions. In the 95-kilogram division, Japan's Hitoshi Sugai defeated Olympic gold medalist Ha Hyung-joo of South Korea while another Olympic gold medalist, Japan's Hitoshi Saito, was upset by Cho Yong-Chul of South Korea in the heavyweight (over S5 kilos) final In Edmonton, Montreal native Kevan Pipe, 32, has been hired as the new executive director of the Canadian Soccer Association, president Jim Fleming said yesterday In Belfast, an American boxer scheduled to fight Irish featherweight Barry McGui-gan, holder of the World Boxing Association title, has threatened to pull out of tomorrow's bout unless promoters allow the American national anthem to be sung in the ring prior to the fight.

Organizers say both anthems will be played but have balked at the idea of singing in the ring. 4, 1 TODAY'S ODDS BASEBALL NATIONAL LEAGUE Favorite Odda Underdog CUBS 6-7 Phillies REDS 7VJ-8V4 Astros Mets 7-8 Pirates Cards EXPOS Padres Even-6 BRAVES DODGERS 8-9 Giants AMERICAN LEAGUE Angels 6'2-7Vj INDIANS TIGERS Bosox YANKEES 7V2-8V2 Orioles Blue Jays 6W-7V4 BREWERS Royals Even-6 TWINS MARINERS 6vj-7Vi Rangers AS 5VJ-6V!
