Having been but a short time ia the State and had but a brief residence in this city, the questions are frequently asked me, What do you think of Kansas? How do you like Neodesha? As I have concluded to remain' in this State for- the present, and to cast my lot with the people, of this place, I have thought, it would not be amiss to' answer these questions through the public press. Tliller tlte "Liberals." has been built this ernbiyo city, surely no one should complain or be dissatisfied at the progress that has made even in this fast age. It would seem that two j-ears was a short time in which to bnild up a town of 1,200 inhabitants in the wilderness, and to set in motion so many of the arts of progress and Christian civilization. But while there has been a good beginning and the progress made is very gratifying to any one but a croaker, there still remains much to be done.
