MBERI gan county, who are open for con JJ ji viction in reference to matrimonial relations. All correspondence out about four miles when it began to mist a little, and gradually increased until we reached Winona, where we found ourselves in a hard pouring rain. Here we met several of our Winona friends, Messrs. Boot-on, Gamble, Clark Fisher, Kinyon, Harvey and others, having had an in-( teresting chat with several. We boarded the east-bound train for Oakley and found it pouring down rain all the way.

We met parties on the train who said it had been raining hard all the way from Kit Carson since 1 2 o'clock that night. In Oakley we found it coming down in sheets and everybody happy. Out friend and worthy co mpanion, James Stallons, here guided us around town. The first person we met was J. W.

Kearns, real estate agent, who knows Logan county, from center to circumference, the next was M. S. Ainsley, who figures in the real estate, livery and various other businesses that are honorable and mon. ey-making. We should judge from appearances that Mr.

Ainsley is in the enjoyment of good health and is not in the country for the benefit of it. We were riext introduced to our fellow worker and long sufferer in the; business, editor of the Opinion, Wm. Kleist, whom we found to be a true type of a gentleman, and a man to fill the place he occupies. Next in order was Buchanan, who deals in real estate and other branches of business we did not learn. Mr.

Buchanan made us feel perfectly at home the few moments Ave spent with him and we have him on our list. From here we passed around to the office of J. Sears who deals in real estate and mentioned the fact that he was in the nursery business to some extent. We found Mr. Sears to be one of the old settlers and a man of considerable experience in the wily ways of this life.

The last on our list, as far as we can remember, was II. C. Chapman who wields the pen on the Oakley Times- He is a man who speaks his mind and lets the chips fall where they may. To sum up matters and things we would say by way of conclusion that we had a very pleasant visit at Oakley and can say, she is a flourishing little town, with a bright and prosperous future. Success to Oakley.

A better show for corn never was seen in any state. Grass is all started fresh, small grain is in excellent condition, and the people of Logan county were never so happy as now. Come and see for yourself. II. S.

Smith, of McPherson, in company with Messrs Sawyer, Whiteside, Waller and Kcan, were in town Wednesday, and took another big slice of real estate. Mr. Smith was here about a month ago and purchased two blocks near the court house. It is strange how they all will come back and bring their friends. Now look here, Mr.
