Two new scholars entered school last Monday. Misses Dessie Duncan knd Nellie Whearity. Miss Duncan in room four and Miss Whearity in room two. Vera Badgley took a trip to Wamego last Monaay, was therefore absent from school. Nobe McComas went home Monday afternoon on account of sickness.

We had a little visitor Monday. It being the sister of Annie Gauze. Again it was washday last Monday, and many were detained at home to turn the wringer, The A grade in Miss Collins room are making and arranging some work in kindergarten to be put on exhibition during institute. At the rehearsal of the cantata last Thursday evening in the court hou Kate Morris made a misstep off the stage and fell on her hand on the floor spraining her wrist very badly. ENXERTANMENT NOTES.

The entertainment was grand. The court house was' quite crowded and th9 people paid good attention to the skill that was being displayed by the scholars. The net proceeds were $17.50. This will help fill our library quite well. The cantata was very well rendered The costumes that repiesented the different countries were unique.

The Chinaman and Japanese, as well as the others, were there in their drebs as if they had just come from their naiive home R. D. McKee deserves much credit for the work he has done in drillings the participants in the cantata. Jes U. Mine.

Pike called Tuesday and sub scribed for the News. Mr. Pike is one of the successful young school teachers of this county, having just finished a term in the Loux district, west of town He will go to Holton, Monday, where he will attend Campbell University during vacation. Miss May Scholes went to Topeka Tuesday where she has a position in a millinery store. John Neal returned from Atchison county Wednesday, where he has been visiting relatives.
